A\u00a0Saturday Night Live<\/a>\u00a0<\/i>reunion is on the way! Pete Davidson<\/strong><\/a> is slated to host the next episode of the variety series nearly one year after his departure<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cComing up next!!!\u201d a post read on\u00a0SNL<\/i>\u2019s Instagram<\/a> account on Saturday, April 15, revealing that Davidson, 29, will lead the Saturday, May 6, episode. Rapper Lil Uzi Vert<\/strong> <\/a>will serve as the musical guest.<\/p>\n The\u00a0Bupkis\u00a0<\/i>star rose to fame as one of the ensemble players<\/a> on\u00a0SNL\u00a0<\/i>in 2014. He continued to perform on the sketch series for eight seasons before ultimately announcing in May 2022 that he was ready to take his final bow<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s crazy to think that today I\u2019ll be doing my last one,\u201d the New York native captioned an Instagram not<\/a>e, shared via pal\u00a0\u00a0\u2014 and\u00a0SNL\u00a0<\/i>writer \u2014 Dave Sirius<\/strong><\/a>\u2019 account at the time. \u201cWhen I got the show I was 20 years old and I had no idea what I was doing. I still don\u2019t but especially back then. I wasn\u2019t really a sketch performer I was just a stand up [comedian]. I knew I could never keep up or go toe to toe with a Kenan Thompson<\/strong> <\/a>or a Kate McKinnon<\/strong><\/a> so I was super scared at figuring out what I could possibly bring to or do for such a historic, respected show and platform.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cI figured since I\u2019m a stand up I\u2019ll just try my stand-up and personal bits on \u2018Weekend Update\u2019 as myself and I\u2019m so glad I did. I got to share so much with this audience<\/a> and literally grow up in front of your eyes. We were together through the good and the bad, the happiest and the darkest of times. I owe Lorne Michaels<\/strong> <\/a>and everyone at\u00a0SNL<\/i>\u00a0my life. I\u2019m so grateful and I wouldn\u2019t be here without them. I appreciate you guys always having my back and sticking up for me<\/a> even when that wasn\u2019t the popular opinion.\u201d<\/p>\n The\u00a0Meet Cute<\/i>\u00a0actor concluded his note by revealing that\u00a0SNL\u00a0<\/i>\u201cis my home\u201d and that he intended to return \u201cnext year\u201d<\/a> for a John \u201cMulaney<\/strong><\/a> musical\u201d number.<\/p>\n Davidson\u2019s final episode on\u00a0<\/a>SNL<\/a>\u00a0<\/i>aired live on May 21, 2022, in which the\u00a0Bodies Bodies Bodies\u00a0<\/i>star paid tribute to his show tenure during one last \u201cWeekend Update\u201d segment.<\/p>\n \u201cI never imagined this\u00a0would be my life,\u201d he gushed to Colin Jost<\/strong> and Michael Che<\/strong> during the sketch<\/a>. \u201cLook at me when I started here: Back then I was just, like, a\u00a0skinny kid and no one knew what\u00a0race I was.\u00a0Now, everyone knows I\u2019m\u00a0white because I became hugely\u00a0successful while barely showing\u00a0up to work.\u201d<\/p>\n He added at the time: \u201cWhen I auditioned for\u00a0SNL<\/i>,\u00a0[Lorne] said, \u2018I don\u2019t think you\u2019re right for this show, so let\u2019s screw this up together.\u2019 And that\u2019s exactly what we did<\/a> and that\u2019s why people who don\u2019t think I deserve the job shouldn\u2019t really hate me since we have so much in common.
