Thomas didn\u2019t include the trips in his past financial forms, and, according to the committee, they only heard about them after threatening to subpoena Crow.<\/p>\n<p>Democratic staff members of the Judiciary Committee concluded their investigation with a 93-page <a data-offer-url=\"https:\/\/static01.nyt.com\/newsgraphics\/documenttools\/71db41a9ee771d6f\/db1c566b-full.pdf\" class=\"external-link\" data-event-click=\"{&quot;element&quot;:&quot;ExternalLink&quot;,&quot;outgoingURL&quot;:&quot;https:\/\/static01.nyt.com\/newsgraphics\/documenttools\/71db41a9ee771d6f\/db1c566b-full.pdf&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/static01.nyt.com\/newsgraphics\/documenttools\/71db41a9ee771d6f\/db1c566b-full.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">report<\/a>\u2014along with about 800 pages of documents\u2014that delves into what they describe as an \u201cethical crisis\u201d of the court\u2019s own making.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">In a statement after the report became public on Saturday, <strong>Michael Zona<\/strong>, a spokesman for Crow, denounced the inquiry as \u201cpolitical, partisan, and unconstitutional from the start\u201d and held that his client had turned over the information \u201cvoluntarily.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">The additional trips on Crow\u2019s dime were one of the \u201cfew new revelations in a report that otherwise largely summarized information about largess accepted by justices \u2014 and failures to disclose it \u2014 that had already become public,\u201d <em>the New York Times<\/em>\u2019 <strong>Charlie Savage<\/strong> <a data-offer-url=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/12\/21\/us\/politics\/clarence-thomas-trips-disclosure-investigation.html\" class=\"external-link\" data-event-click=\"{&quot;element&quot;:&quot;ExternalLink&quot;,&quot;outgoingURL&quot;:&quot;https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/12\/21\/us\/politics\/clarence-thomas-trips-disclosure-investigation.html&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/12\/21\/us\/politics\/clarence-thomas-trips-disclosure-investigation.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">The two previously undisclosed trips\u2014one where Thomas flew on Crow\u2019s private jet from Nebraska to Saranac, NY for a five-day retreat at one of the billionaire\u2019s residences and another where the justice spent the night on Crow\u2019s yacht after being flown from Washington, DC to New Jersey for the dedication of a statue\u2014both took place in 2021.
