Sister Wives<\/span><\/i><\/a> stars <\/span>Christine<\/b><\/a> and <\/span>Kody Brown<\/b><\/a> revealed they are both committed to coparenting amicably in the wake of their split after nearly three decades together.<\/span><\/p>\n The now-exes are proud parents of six kids, Aspyn, Mykelti, Gwendlyn, Ysabel, Truely and Paedon, whom they welcomed over the course of their 27-year marriage. Christine and Kody spiritually wed on March 25, 1994.<\/span><\/p>\n Christine went public with her \u201cdifficult decision\u201d to leave Kody and the life she created with him and sister wives <\/span>Meri<\/b><\/a>, <\/span>Janelle<\/b><\/a> and <\/span>Robyn Brown<\/b><\/a> in Flagstaff, Arizona, in a November 2021 statement.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe will continue to be a strong presence in each other\u2019s lives as we parent our beautiful children and support our wonderful family. At this time, we ask for your grace and kindness as we navigate through this stage within our family,\u201d she wrote, also thanking fans for their \u201cunderstanding and compassion.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Kody spoke out about his third wife\u2019s decision to part ways<\/a> in a separate statement via Instagram, revealing it came with \u201ca great deal of sadness.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe enjoyed many years together and I have a large amount of respect and admiration for her,\u201d the reality star added. \u201cAlthough we are moving forward on different paths<\/a>, we will always remain committed parents.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Halloween 2021 marked the first holiday the couple seemingly celebrated separately after she moved back to Utah in a duplex based in the city of Murray. Over the years, the Browns have lived in Utah, Nevada and now Arizona<\/a>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Meanwhile, Janelle enjoyed reuniting with some of her loved ones while visiting daughter <\/span>Maddie<\/b><\/a>\u2019s home in North Carolina, where Christine\u2019s daughter Ysabel now lives.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Prior to their split announcement, Christine and Kody seemed to be at odds<\/a> over several marital issues, including her hopes to move back to Utah amid their Coyote Pass building plans in Arizona, as well as with how they handled social distancing as a family amid the coronavirus pandemic.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Following their split, Christine opened up about the final straw in their marriage.\u00a0 \u201cHe broke my little girl\u2019s heart,\u201d she told People<\/em> in August 2022, referring to Kody missing their daughter Ysabel\u2019s September 2020 surgery. \u201cI really find it hard to stay with a guy who I don\u2019t respect. I understood COVID, and why he couldn\u2019t come, but she didn\u2019t. And she still has a really hard time with it.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI would\u2019ve preferred to have him there, of course, because it\u2019s what Ysabel needed,\u201d she continued, before adding, \u201cBut I didn\u2019t need him anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n In December 2022, In Touch<\/em> exclusively broke the news<\/a> that second wife Janelle ended her relationship with Kody after years of onscreen tension documented during seasons 15, 16 and 17 of Sister Wives<\/em>. The pair spiritually wed in 1993.<\/p>\n That same month, first wife <\/span>Meri \u2013 whom Kody legally wed in 1990, divorced in 2014 but remained spiritually married to \u2013 <\/span>confirmed that the businessman had left her<\/span><\/a> while appearing on the <\/span>Sister Wives: One on One <\/span><\/i>tell-all, leaving Kody with one remaining wife, <\/span>Robyn.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n After news of the breakups made the rounds, Christine\u2019s daughter Gwendlyn reflected on season 17 of <\/span>Sister Wives<\/span><\/i> in a <\/span>video posted to YouTube<\/span><\/a>, in which she watched clips of the latest season of the long-running TLC series and praised her mom for how she handled separating from Kody.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cMy mom is honestly such a good woman,\u201d <\/span>the reality personality said<\/span><\/a>. \u201cShe probably could have taken him for, like, all he\u2019s worth, and, like, robbed him blind, but she really didn\u2019t.
