Donnie Wahlberg<\/a> has vowed to spend more time with his siblings.<\/p>\n

Donnie Wahlberg has promised to spend more time with his brothers and sisters<\/p>\n

The ‘New Kids on the Block’ star, 55, has five brothers – including Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg<\/a> – and two sisters but he admits they they don’t see each other every often because he lives so far away and he’s now promised he will try harder to get on a plane and go back to his home town of Boston to reconnect with his family.<\/p>\n

Donnie – who has a home in St Charles, Illinois with his wife Jenny McCarthy – told Variety: “It\u2019s not that I\u2019m not committed to my family, but I live in a different state than my siblings.<\/p>\n

“I think when you come from a big family, you can stay close, but my career has taken me all over the world, and it still does.<\/p>\n

“My sister always calls and says, \u2018Come on, Mom\u2019s gone now, let\u2019s all fly to Boston and do Thanksgiving.\u2019 A lot of times I\u2019m like, \u2018It\u2019s a long flight. I\u2019ve been flying back and forth, filming and going on tour. I just want to sit at home and put on the fireplace and be with my wife and my dogs’.”<\/p>\n

\nHe went on to add he will try harder and encourage his younger brother Mark – who lives in Las Vegas – to return to Boston too.<\/p>\n

\nDonnie said: “Maybe I need to hop on a plane and do a little bit more of those occasions with the siblings and encourage Mark to get on a plane and do the same.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nDonnie previously revealed the couple has spent a long time renovating their home and even added a “little trail” in the garden where Jenny can go in stressful moments.<\/p>\n

\nHe told PEOPLE: “We have a little trail we created just to take walks – it has a little Buddha and a fountain – and I know that means a lot to [Jenny]. <\/p>\n

\n“I know if she’s stressed or has worries … that little space is where she can go. We’ve just carved out a little piece of heaven.”<\/p>\n
