Ryan Reynolds<\/strong><\/a> knows that Martha Stewart<\/strong><\/a> doesn\u2019t think he\u2019s funny \u2014 and he\u2019s just fine with that.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you can\u2019t take a punch in this business, you\u2019re in trouble,\u201d Reynolds, 48, said when The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a> asked if Stewart\u2019s criticism hurt his feelings in a feature published on Friday, December 13. \u201cBut why would people ever assume the way they see you on camera is how you\u2019re going to be in real life? Right? You\u2019re just a person. But I do it, too. I\u2019m a fan of people and I love certain people\u2019s work, and I\u2019m thinking when I meet them, I want to see little glimpses of that.\u201d<\/p>\n

He emphasized that there are no hard feelings nor does he think the lifestyle mogul meant to be malicious. \u201cI don\u2019t think what happened was designed to hurt anyone,\u201d the Deadpool<\/em><\/a> actor added. \u201cThat was just an incredibly valid observation that someone made. Lots of people would say I\u2019m very serious if they met me. I can\u2019t imagine entering any room in which I don\u2019t intimately know the people, where I suddenly kind of turn on and perform.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stewart, 83, appeared as a guest on Bilt Rewards\u2019 Rent Free<\/em> game show<\/a> last month and was asked which celebrities she thought Bilt members named as \u201cthe most fun to hang out with.\u201d She was surprised to hear Reynolds made the cut.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s not so funny in real life. No, he\u2019s not so funny. He\u2019s very serious.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cHe\u2019s a good actor. He can act funny, but he isn\u2019t funny. Maybe he can get to be funny again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stewart said she was \u201cgoing to get in trouble\u201d since the actor is one of her neighbors.<\/p>\n

After her comments went viral, Reynolds quickly issued a playful response via X: \u201cI\u2019d disagree with her. But I tried that once. The woman is unexpectedly spry. She really closed the gap after a mile or so,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

During his conversation with THR<\/em> one month later, Reynolds explained that when he isn\u2019t in the spotlight, he\u2019s not as gregarious as one might expect.<\/p>\n

When asked how he maintains his mental equilibrium, the Deadpool star, 46, told Page Six on Monday, October 9, that he\u2019s \u201cnot always great [at it],\u201d adding that he finds himself \u201cspinning out of control\u201d at times. \u201cI\u2019ve always been one to be very quiet, and part of that is anxiety I\u2019ve carried with me since I was a kid,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd at times it\u2019s very normal for anyone and everyone to experience anxiety. Some people\u2019s anxiety, and I include mine, has a tendency to go down a slippery slope that needs to be managed to some degree. I grew up with a man, my father, Jim Reynolds<\/a>, who would not say a word about anything that touched on vulnerability. But yes, I\u2019ve always been much more shy around people that I don\u2019t know unless I\u2019m stepping out on a stage.\u201d<\/p>\n
