Shawn Mendes<\/strong><\/a> has apparently addressed his love triangle with Camila Cabello<\/strong><\/a> and Sabrina Carpenter<\/a><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Without naming names, Mendes acknowledged past relationship drama in his appearance on the Thursday, December 12 episode of John Mayer<\/strong>\u2019s SiriusXM show \u201cHow\u2019s Life?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSo, I\u2019m with someone, [and] two days before going to hang with my ex, [I] express I\u2019m going to hang with my ex because I have unresolved feelings,\u201d the musician, 26, said in a video preview<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mendes now thinks that instead of giving two days\u2019 notice, he should have let her know \u201ctwo weeks\u201d ahead of time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tSabrina Carpenter\u2019s new album, Short n\u2019 Sweet, has finally arrived \u2014 and fans can\u2019t stop talking about \u2026 Shawn Mendes? If you were unaware that Carpenter and Mendes were ever an item, then you\u2019re not alone. Their alleged romance (which Mendes denied happened) only lasted for a couple months at best, and Mendes, 26, briefly [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIs there something in all of this that you could say, \u2018Yeah, I played that wrong?\u2019\u201d Mayer, 47, asked his guest.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In response, Mendes shared his biggest life lesson: \u201cNo one gets out of this life without getting hurt and no one gets out of this life without hurting someone.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Mendes and Cabello, 27, dated from 2019 to 2021<\/span><\/a> after years of friendship. In February 2023, Mendes was first spotted with Carpenter<\/span><\/a>, 25, and that March, the twosome attended the Vanity Fair <\/i>Oscars Party separately. Entertainment Tonight<\/i> reported that they were an item, but Mendes denied<\/span><\/a> that he was dating Carpenter.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mendes subsequently rekindled his relationship with Cabello after they were seen kissing at Coachella<\/span><\/a> in April 2023. Mendes and Cabello ultimately split for good<\/span><\/a> in June 2023, with a source exclusively telling Us Weekly<\/i> at the time that Cabello was the one who \u201cdecided to end things\u201d and Mendes was \u201cvery upset\u201d that they could not make it work.<\/span><\/p>\n

Carpenter\u2019s fans noticed apparent nods to the situation on her latest album Short n\u2019 Sweet<\/i>. For one, the title refers to \u201csome of these relationships and how some of them were the shortest I\u2019ve ever had and they affected me the most,\u201d she told Apple Music\u2019s Zane Lowe<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The lyrics of the song \u201cCoincidence\u201d addressed a man who got back together with his ex shortly after a split.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe second I put my head on your chest \/ She knew, she\u2019s got a real sixth sense,\u201d Carpenter sang. \u201cNow her name comes up once, then it comes up twice \/ And without her even bein\u2019 here, she\u2019s back in your life \/ Now she\u2019s in the same damn city on the same damn night.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
