David Furnish<\/a> since 2005 and has sons Zachary, 13, and 11-year-old Elijah with him – acknowledged that while he has had a “groundbreaking” career in music, it is “more important” to him that he has been good to his children. <\/p>\nSpeaking on ‘Good Morning America’, he said: “My music speaks for itself. My legacy is that I was a great husband and an even better father.<\/p>\n
“The music, the career is fantastic. It’s been mind-blowing, groundbreaking But the most important thing to me in my life is making sure my children are happy, they have a wonderful life and that I was good to them. That’s all that counts.”<\/p>\n
The ‘Crocodile Rock’ hitmaker has sold 300 million records since starting out in 1970 and recently completed his five-year long ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’<\/p>\n
\ntour in the summer of 2023 but in the joint interview, David noted that Elton is simply just “daddy” at home and doesn’t play his music around the house. <\/p>\n
\nHe said: “I think one of the things that Elton’s always done, he does a show, comes home, he doesn’t talk a lot about what he does, he doesn’t play his music all the time in the house,. He’s daddy.” <\/p>\n
\nThe singer recently revealed that he lost the vision in his right eye due to an infection and hadn’t been able to “see” his new musical ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ properly, but said the cast “sounded great” as he attended a charity gala event put on by the stage adaptation of the 2006 flick in aid of the Elton John AIDS Foundation at London’s Dominion Theatre at the beginning of December.<\/p>\n
\nWearing oversized, red-tinted spectacles, he is quoted by various outlets as saying: “As some of you may know I have had issues and now I have lost my sight. I haven’t been able to see the performance, but I have enjoyed it.”<\/p>\n
\nPraising his spouse, he added: “To my husband who\u2019s been my rock because I haven\u2019t been able to come to many of the previews… it\u2019s hard for me to see it but I love to hear it and it sounded good tonight OK. Thank you for coming!”<\/p>\n
