ALASKA<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/thepointsguy.com\/news\/alaska-airlines-seattle-long-haul-routes-major-changes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">we reported<\/a> Tuesday, Alaska made some major announcements about its future, including adding flights to Asia from its Seattle hub, readjusting its route network now that its merger with Hawaiian is done and adding new lounges. It also confirmed that it was adding a premium card to its credit card lineup next summer.<\/p>\n<p>You can get 500 Alaska Mileage Plan miles just for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alaskaair.com\/content\/mileage-plan\/how-to-earn-miles\/financial-partners\/premium-card\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">joining the waitlist<\/a> by Dec. 31.<\/p>\n<p>Once card applications are open for new sign-ups, you can use an exclusive link sent to you by Alaska. However, it did say that it will include a beefed-up version of its current <a href=\"https:\/\/thepointsguy.com\/guide\/alaska-visa-companion-fare\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alaska Companion Fare benefit<\/a> that comes as a perk of the <a href=\"https:\/\/thepointsguy.com\/credit-cards\/reviews\/alaska-visa-signature-card-review\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Alaska Airlines Visa Signature\u00ae credit card<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/thepointsguy.com\/credit-cards\/bank-of-america\/reviews\/alaska-airlines-visa-business-card-review\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alaska Airlines Visa\u00ae Business card<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Alaska is calling the enhanced version of the companion benefit a &#8220;Global Companion Award Certificate&#8221; that will be good on international flights, including on some partner airlines.<\/p>\n<p>The card will also earn 3 miles per dollar spent on all eligible foreign purchases and dining, which is an exciting development.<\/p>\n<p>It will also allow customers to waive award ticket fees and include Alaska Lounge passes and Wi-Fi vouchers.
