Dick Van Dyke<\/strong><\/a> is keeping up spirits amid the wildfires plaguing Malibu since Monday, December 9.<\/p>\n

\u201cArlene and I have safely evacuated with our animals except for Bobo escaped as we were leaving,\u201d Van Dyke, 98, shared via Facebook<\/a> on Tuesday, December 10, referring to his wife, Arlene Silver<\/strong>. \u201cWe\u2019re praying he\u2019ll be ok and that our community in Serra Retreat will survive these terrible fires.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a second update, Van Dyke shared a sweet video of his and Silver\u2019s pet cat, Bobo, and wrote: \u201cHoping Bobo is OK.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to The New York Times<\/em><\/a>, the Franklin fire has set ablaze more than 2,7000 acres of land as of Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tA star of both stage and screen, Dick Van Dyke has endeared himself to generations of fans. Van Dyke \u2014 who has four Emmys, one Grammy and a Tony Award to his name \u2014 married Arlene Silver in 2012. During a February 2023 interview with Yahoo! Music, the Mary Poppins star joked that \u201chaving a [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Affluent Malibu is home to stars including Van Dyke, Cher<\/strong>, Barbra Streisand<\/strong> and more.<\/p>\n

Cher\u2019s publicist, Liz Rosenberg<\/strong>, told the outlet that the singer had evacuated to a hotel along with her pets on Monday. A spokesperson for Streisand told the Times<\/em> he was awaiting news of the Oscar winner\u2019s whereabouts.<\/p>\n

The tragic wildfire and Tuesday\u2019s evacuation came just days before Van Dyke turns 99<\/a> on Friday, December 13.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, the Mary Poppins<\/em> star said in jest that he hoped to be still alive to celebrate his 99th birthday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Dick became a big brother six years later when his brother, Jerry Van Dyke, arrived. When Dick starred on his sitcom The Dick [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI\u2019m pretty old,\u201d Van Dyke told a photographer in September, per Page Six<\/em>.<\/p>\n

When asked if he had any plans to celebrate his birthday in December, he joked, \u201cJust praying that I make it.\u201d<\/p>\n

That same month Van Dyke sparked concerns after canceling a string of planned appearances, including a Utah-based fan convention.<\/p>\n

The legendary actor also pulled out of the 2024 Emmy Awards<\/a> on September 15 despite plans for him to be one of the night\u2019s celebrity presenters.<\/p>\n
