From Stars Hollow to Manhattan!\u00a0The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel\u00a0<\/i><\/a>reunited creator Amy Sherman-Palladino<\/strong><\/a> with several of her former\u00a0Gilmore Girls\u00a0<\/i>cast members\u00a0for both brief and prolonged cameos<\/a>.<\/p>\n Before season 4\u2019s February 2022 premiere, the\u00a0Amazon <\/span>Prime Video series made headlines after announcing the arrival of two beloved actors from the CW series<\/a>, including Milo Ventimiglia<\/strong><\/a>, who played <\/span>Jess Mariano.<\/p>\n \u201cThey were the ones who really gave me my break,\u201d the\u00a0This Is Us<\/a>\u00a0<\/i>star said of the\u00a0Bunheads\u00a0<\/i>showrunner and her husband, Daniel Palladino<\/strong><\/a>, during a January 2022 appearance on\u00a0The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/i><\/a>. \u201cThey\u2019re the ones who kind of put me on the map with\u00a0Gilmore [Girls]<\/i>\u00a0and with Jess.\u201d<\/p>\n He noted at the time: \u201cThey are the kinds of people that,<\/span>\u00a0for me, I was\u00a0like, one, I\u2019m going to know them the rest of my life<\/a>; and two, anytime they call, I\u2019ve got to be there. So, if they\u2019re like, \u2018Hey,<\/span>\u00a0Mi, why don\u2019t you come in and\u00a0[do]<\/span>\u00a0a small bit on the show we\u2019re working on,\u2019 \u2018Great!\u2019 \u2018Hey,<\/span>\u00a0if you could take us to the airport,\u2019 \u2018Sure!\u2019 Like, whatever you need, fake Mom and Dad.\u201d<\/p>\n While few details about the\u00a0Heroes\u00a0<\/i>alum\u2019s\u00a0Maisel<\/i>\u00a0<\/span>character have been revealed,\u00a0photos\u00a0taken on set<\/span>\u00a0seemingly teased his connection<\/a> with Miriam \u201cMidge\u201d Maisel (Rachel Brosnahan<\/strong><\/a>).\u00a0Michael Zegan<\/strong><\/a>, who plays Midge\u2019s ex Joel Maisel, went on to hint at how Ventimiglia\u2019s character adds to the former couple\u2019s tension.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWell, I think any new guy that they introduce is gonna affect Joel. It\u2019s not like he\u2019s just moved on and he\u2019s over it,\u201d\u00a0the Boardwalk Empire <\/i>alum<\/span>\u00a0exclusively told\u00a0Us Weekly<\/i>\u00a0in February 2022<\/a>. \u201cEven despite the fact that he\u2019s with Mei [Stephanie Hsu<\/strong>], any guy who ends up with Midge, I think [Joel\u2019s] gonna be insanely jealous of him. I mean, he\u2019s the father of her children, and they have a history. There\u2019s a shared love between each other.\u201d<\/p>\n Zegen quipped: \u201cI get it. Milo\u2019s a really good-looking guy, but \u2014 and obviously, there will be jealousy as well \u2014 but I think it\u2019s really anybody. It can be the ugliest dude in the world. And, you know, if he hears that they\u2019re together, it\u2019s gonna cause some problems.\u201d<\/p>\n Ventimiglia isn\u2019t the first\u00a0Gilmore<\/i>\u00a0Girls<\/i><\/span>\u00a0<\/i>alum to pop by for an episode<\/a> of the period comedy. Ahead of the season 4 premiere, it was also\u00a0announced<\/span>\u00a0that Kelly Bishop<\/strong><\/a> (Emily Gilmore on the WB series) would be featured\u00a0on Maisel<\/i><\/span>.<\/p>\n Daniel told TVLine<\/a> in February 2022<\/span>\u00a0that Bishop \u2014 who worked with the married couple on ABC Family\u2019s short-lived\u00a0series <\/span><\/a>Bunheads<\/a>\u00a0<\/i>\u2014 plays \u201cEmily Gilmore on steroids.\u201d<\/p>\n Gilmore Girls<\/a>\u00a0<\/i>originally ran for seven seasons on The WB<\/a> (which later became The CW) between\u00a02000<\/span>\u00a0and 2007, helmed by the Palladinos. While the showrunners eventually parted ways with the network ahead of\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0final season, they eventually reunited nearly the entire OG cast\u00a0\u2014 including iconic mother-daughter duo Lauren Graham<\/strong><\/a> (Lorelei Gilmore) and Alexis Bledel<\/strong><\/a> (Rory Gilmore) \u2014<\/span>\u00a0for Netflix\u2019s\u00a0Gilmore Girls<\/i>:\u00a0<\/span>A Year in the Life\u00a0<\/i>revival<\/a> in November 2016.
