Jesse Tyler Ferguson<\/strong><\/a> has nothing but love for his Modern Family<\/em><\/a> costars \u2014 even if his TV daughter, Aubrey Anderson-Emmons<\/strong><\/a>, sometimes leaves him on read.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just called her the other day, and it went straight to voicemail,\u201d Ferguson, 49, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> of Anderson-Emmons, 17, while promoting his partnership with Tovala for their smart oven<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He joked that being silenced was a hit to his ego. \u201cI was like, \u2018Oh my god, she sent me to voicemail!\u2019\u201d Ferguson continued. \u201cI\u2019m calling her, and she\u2019s sending me to voicemail. She\u2019s like, \u2018Oh God, my TV dad\u2019s calling me.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor noted that he met Anderson-Emmons when she was only 3 years old, so he still thinks of her as a little girl at times. \u201cBut, you know, she\u2019s a different human being now,\u201d he confessed.<\/p>\n

Ferguson played Mitchell Pritchett on Modern Family<\/em> for 11 seasons from 2009 to 2020. Anderson-Emmons joined the cast in 2011 as Mitchell and husband Cameron Tucker\u2019s (Eric Stonestreet<\/strong><\/a>) daughter, Lily Tucker-Pritchett.<\/p>\n

Although Ferguson didn\u2019t love being sent to voicemail by his former costar, he told Us<\/em> he\u2019d love to reunite with Anderson-Emmons and the rest of the cast for a movie<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been away from these characters for four or five years, like, let\u2019s just drop in and see what\u2019s happening five years later,\u201d he said of his ideas for a movie catch up. \u201cMaybe Mitch and Cameron<\/a> still moved away and you want to see these characters together, so it could be around some sort of family reunion.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ferguson added that he\u2019d \u201clove to check in with Lily\u201d and see how she acts as a teenager<\/a>, who would be \u201calmost on her way to college.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for the rest of the story line, he felt like it shouldn\u2019t be \u201ctoo different than the show.\u201d Instead, Ferguson suggested the possible move would be a \u201cdeeper history of what\u2019s happened over the past five years\u201d and what the kids are \u201cdealing with\u201d at the time.<\/p>\n

The script doesn\u2019t really matter to Ferguson, who revealed that the close cast is just \u201cdying to all be together again. We love each other<\/a> so much.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who played Mitchell Pritchett, reignited rumors when he shared a snap inside the Dunphy family home. \u201cHaven\u2019t seen this view in awhile,\u201d [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

If the Modern Family<\/em> cast does do a reunion it needs to be quick, according to Sof\u00eda Vergara<\/strong><\/a>, who played Gloria Delgado-Pritchett.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t have much time, since Ed [O\u2019Neill]<\/strong><\/a> is old,\u201d Vergara, 52, joked during a January appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/em><\/a>, referring to her TV husband, who played Jay Pritchett.<\/p>\n

Vergara later confessed that she doesn\u2019t think they need a reunion yet. \u201cIt don\u2019t know but it doesn\u2019t seem right,\u201d she added. \u201cI feel like we need a little more time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ferguson, meanwhile, told Us<\/em> that Vergara\u2019s comments about O\u2019Neill, 78, prove how close the cast became during their sitcom run.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe love teasing each other so much. We love, you know, making each other laugh,\u201d he explained. \u201cEd has such a great sense of humor. He read that. If we\u2019re looking chronologically, you\u2019re the one we\u2019re most worried about.\u201d<\/p>\n

As fans and Ferguson alike wait for someone to greenlight a Modern Family<\/em> reunion<\/a>, the actor is keeping busy with other projects \u2014 once of which is teaming up with Tovala to promote their smart oven.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love Tovala. I am super busy now that I have two kids<\/a>,\u201d he told Us<\/em> of the partnership. \u201cI have this [\u2018Dinner\u2019s on Me\u2019] podcast. I actually eat out on my podcast. So, like, sometimes I need to make meals for my family who doesn\u2019t eat out with me on my podcast. I need to do something easy.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actress \u2014 who admitted to discussing the idea with TV dad Jesse Tyler Ferguson \u2014 told DailyMail.com in an interview published on Tuesday, February 20 that Modern Family had \u201ca good ending,\u201d but remains optimistic about a [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Ferguson explained that the appliance makes dinner time stress-free<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m also such a foodie. I don\u2019t love just throwing in a microwave meal,\u201d he said, noting that Tovala\u2019s Smart Oven makes him feel like he\u2019s \u201cstill sort of participating\u201d in the cooking process.<\/p>\n
