Matty Healy<\/strong><\/a> has regrets over his recent feud with Azealia Banks<\/strong> on social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat a bad day, I really let myself down,\u201d the 1975 frontman, 35, wrote via Reddit<\/a> on Thursday, December 5. \u201cI have worked so hard to move past these impulsive self-destructive and honestly quite volatile outbursts I have.\u201d<\/p>\n

Healy admitted that he\u2019s \u201cconstantly making trouble\u201d for himself especially when he returns to social media after having \u201cdepressive episodes.\u201d The musician noted that his mental health struggles should not be an \u201cexcuse\u201d for how he acts online \u2014 especially towards others.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just feel dreadful about how I acted violent \u2014 I think Azealia and all obvious, flawed people all deep down have a heart and I hate that I have contributed to her mental fragility. She\u2019s a human,\u201d he continued. \u201cThis cultural discourse has become so violent in general. I don\u2019t wanna act like I regret who I am or who have been. But Tbh at this point I feel gross even having said anything negative ever about anything \u2014 if it\u2019s contributed to this culture.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tCharli XCX thinks of Matty Healy as a brother, and as anyone with siblings can tell you, that means their relationship is filled with love and, at times, frustration. Healy\u2019s band, The 1975, is set to appear on the Brat remix album, a star-studded take on Charli XCX\u2019s 2024 album whose moniker and aesthetic have [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Healy shared that he wasn\u2019t making this statement because he felt \u201cbullied and scared\u201d about his outburst. Instead, he wanted to acknowledge that he messed up.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m embarrassed man. And I\u2019m sad,\u201d he penned. \u201cAnd I want this 1975 world to be dreamy and wonderful again. Not some Black Mirror<\/em> episode about being a f\u2014ing hipster. I hope to put as much work into our need and desire for altruism and understanding and love as I have about the dangers of becoming an internet lunatic.\u201d<\/p>\n

Healy wrote that it was \u201ctime to move on\u201d and he wanted to send his fans \u201clove.\u201d Many 1975 fans took to the comments section to voice their support for Healy and applauded him for taking accountability.<\/p>\n

\u201cMate, you\u2019re human. You admit your flaws. You\u2019re sound,\u201d one user replied. \u201cYou\u2019re a damned sight more self-aware than most, and we respect and appreciate you for it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Healy was seemingly touched by the group\u2019s response and commented on his post, \u201cYou guys rock.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, Healy made headlines after he slammed Banks, 33, after she made remarks about his friend<\/a>, Charli XCX<\/strong>\u2019s appearance. (Charli, 32, is also engaged to Healy\u2019s bandmate<\/a>, George Daniel<\/strong>.)<\/p>\n

\u201cAzealia you seem to have a blind spot when it comes to your \u2018reads\u2019. All the women you attack seem to be culturally relevant, attractive, divisive and NICE people,\u201d Healy wrote via X on Tuesday, December 3. \u201cI think this makes you jealous cos you\u2019re so talented but everything else about you is a failure. Just rap bro.\u201d<\/p>\n

After coming to Charli\u2019s defense, the beef between Banks and Healy didn\u2019t stop there.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve known Charli since she was 16 and always thought she was absolutely gorgeous, but there\u2019s a stark contrast between this and this,\u201d Banks retorted via X<\/a> on Tuesday alongside two pics comparing the Brat artist\u2019s looks from 2014 to now.<\/p>\n

After Banks\u2019 response, the exchange between the twosome got even more heated. Banks then wrote that Healy\u2019s fianc\u00e9e<\/a>, Gabbriette Bechtel<\/strong>, looks \u201clike Frankenstein\u201d \u2014 which led Healy to fight back.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll f\u2014ing slap you so hard I\u2019ll get a Guinness world record for the highest a rat some b\u2014h calls a wig has ever flown,\u201d Healy wrote at the time in a since-deleted tweet per multiple outlets.<\/p>\n

Healy deleted the threatening tweet and subsequently apologized.<\/p>\n
