OpenAI is partnering with Future<\/a>, the publisher behind Tom\u2019s Guide<\/em>, PC Gamer<\/em>, TechRadar<\/em>, Marie Claire,<\/em> and many other websites and magazines. The deal will give ChatGPT users access to news and lifestyle content from Future\u2019s more than 200 media brands, while also displaying \u201cattribution and links to the full original articles.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n This adds to the string of content licensing agreements OpenAI has made in recent months. In addition to The Verge<\/em>\u2019s parent company Vox Media<\/a>, OpenAI has also struck deals with The Wall Street Journal <\/em>owner News Corp<\/a>, People<\/em> publisher Dotdash Meredith<\/a>, Politico <\/em>parent Axel Springer<\/a>, the Financial Times<\/em><\/a>, and The Atlantic<\/em><\/a>. However, some publishers, like The New York Times<\/em><\/a>, The Intercept<\/em><\/a>, and a group of Canadian outlets including the CBC<\/a>, have sued OpenAI over allegations of copyright infringement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n OpenAI says its deal with Future builds on the company\u2019s \u201cexisting deployment of OpenAI\u2019s technology,\u201d as it has already launched AI chatbots within Tom\u2019s Hardware<\/em> and Who What Wear<\/em>. Future also plans to use OpenAI\u2019s tech for sales, marketing, and editorial purposes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cThis partnership enables us to enhance the ChatGPT experience by providing more access to engaging, up to date, and reliable information from a range of specialist sources,\u201d OpenAI chief operating officer Brad Lightcap said in the announcement. \u201cOur goal is to help publishers and content creators both benefit from advanced AI technology and expand their reach.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
