The comic and actor, 31, has an estimated net worth of $8 million but has now divulged most of it did not come from his stints on \u2018SNL\u2019.<\/p>\n

He said in a video roundup for New York magazine when he and his past and present co-stars on the show what their biggest splurge was after they got their first \u2018SNL\u2019 paycheque: \u201cDo you guys know what they pay us? It\u2019s, like, three grand an episode.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pete added: \u201cI think I got dinner.\u201d<\/p>\n

NBC\u2019s sketch comedy show \u2018SNL\u2019 is on its 50th season and has been a launching pad for the careers of stars from Dan Aykroyd to Adam Sandler<\/a> and Pete.<\/p>\n

\nIt airs one season per financial year, with each season typically between 18 and 22 episodes.<\/p>\n

\nGoing by Pete\u2019s claim about its stars\u2019 pay, it means a cast member who appears in every episode in a season would earn from $54,000 to $66,000 per year.<\/p>\n

\nCurrent star James Austin Johnson, 35, told New York magazine he bought \u201cthe most uncomfortable West Elm couch of all time\u201d with his first \u2018SNL\u2019 paycheque.<\/p>\n

\nHe added: \u201cI swear to God, it\u2019s, like, made of bricks.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nJulia Louis-Dreyfus, 63, said she bought a pair of shoes that were out of her \u201cbudget\u201d.<\/p>\n

\nThe \u2018Seinfeld\u2019 actress was on the sketch comedy show from 1982 to 1985, and admitted the shoes cost $75.<\/p>\n

\nSarah Silverman, 54, said she bought a $300 cashmere sweater, while 31-year-old comic Sarah Sherman splashed out on a \u201cnice mattress\u201d.<\/p>\n

\nLike James Austin Johnson, actor Seth Meyers, 50, said he used his initial \u2018SNL\u2019 cheque to buy a \u201creally big couch\u201d.<\/p>\n

\nThe late-night talk show host added he then went to Best Buy and picked up a \u201creally big TV\u201d to match his purchase.<\/p>\n
