Nicole Kidman<\/strong><\/a> was, well, kind of floored by one review of her forthcoming movie Babygirl<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s very releasing, this film. I hope it is,\u201d Kidman, 57, told The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a> in a profile published on Wednesday, December 4. \u201cI\u2019ve had some people say it\u2019s the most disturbing film they\u2019ve ever seen, which I\u2019m like, \u2018Oh no, I\u2019m so sorry.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

The movie \u2014 set to be released on Wednesday, December 25 \u2014 stars Kidman as Romy, a CEO, who starts an illicit relationship with one of her interns, Samuel (Harris Dickinson<\/strong>). For Kidman, the sexually-charged film was something that spoke to her on a deeper level.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of times women are discarded at a certain period of their career as a sexual being. So, it was really beautiful to be seen in this way,\u201d the actress told THR<\/em>. \u201cFrom the minute I read it, I was like, \u2018Yeah, this is a voice I haven\u2019t seen, this is a place that I haven\u2019t been, I don\u2019t think audiences have been.\u2019 My character has reached a stage where she\u2019s got all this power, but she\u2019s not sure who she is, what she wants, what she desires, even though she seems to have it all. And I think that\u2019s really relatable.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Babygirl actress, 57, shared in a new interview with GQ\u00a0published Monday, November 18, that she has opened herself up to feeling emotions, rather than shutting them off, as she has embraced her 50s. Kidman said her emotions are \u201ceven more\u201d close to the surface in [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Kidman also admitted that she felt it was a \u201craw and dangerous\u201d film to make.<\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t believe they were giving us the money to make it,\u201d she said, in part. \u201cThe sexuality of it<\/a>. That it wasn\u2019t written for a 20-year-old. It wasn\u2019t written even for a 30-year-old.\u201d<\/p>\n

Even though fans have seen Kidman in a multitude of films over the years, something like this \u2014 especially when it comes to the sex of it all \u2014 allowed the Australian star to tap into her extroverted side.<\/p>\n
