\t\t<\/p>\n Kate Linder<\/strong><\/a> has been starring on The Young and the Restless <\/em><\/strong>for over 40 years, but she still has a job on the side that she\u2019s not giving up!<\/p>\n The 77-year-old actress is explaining why she still works as a part-time flight attendant while appearing as Esther Valentine on the long-running CBS soap opera series.<\/p>\n Kate<\/strong> has been on the show since 1982!<\/p>\n \u201cWe just aired our 13,000th episode, and I was so honored to be part of that,\u201d Kate <\/strong>told Us Weekly<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n So, why is she still a flight attendant?<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s really interesting because one day I get to be on the set, the next day I get to be here doing this Hollywood Christmas parade, and then I get to serve coffee at 35,000 feet,\u201d she said. \u201cYou don\u2019t forget who you are that way. It keeps you grounded.\u201d<\/p>\n Kate <\/strong>works for United Airlines and told a story about getting recognized at work.<\/p>\n \u201cI was standing at the gate ready to get on a plane, and this woman looked at me and she said, \u2018Kate Linder? No, you\u2019re not,\u2019\u201d she said. \u201cAnd I said, \u2018I was when I woke up. So something\u2019s wrong. I don\u2019t know what\u2019s wrong.\u2019 She couldn\u2019t believe that I was going to be working that flight. And she ended up being on that flight.\u201d<\/p>\n Kate <\/strong>added, \u201cI\u2019ve seen a lot of people that sometimes believe their own press. I feel so very fortunate to do what I do. This is all I\u2019ve ever wanted to do.
