The highly-anticipated full-length trailer for Snow White<\/em> is finally here.<\/p>\n

After the release of successful live-action Disney films like The Little Mermaid<\/em> and The Lion King<\/em>, Disney announced it was taking on the iconic 1937 animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs<\/em> in 2022.<\/p>\n

Starring Rachel Zegler<\/strong><\/a> as Snow White and Gal Gadot<\/strong><\/a> as the Evil Queen \u2014 the ultimate and original movie villain \u2014 the studio has kept details about the film relatively under wraps but the film. According to limited reports, the movie is said to maintain the same storyline as the original animated film, but with an updated, more feminist approach. Andrew Burnap, Ansu Kabia, Martin Kelbba<\/strong>, and Dujonna Gift<\/strong> also star.<\/p>\n

In the trailer, Snow White suggests that the Evil Queen show some \u201ckindness\u201d to her subjects, and the Evil Queen promises she wants to be \u201cthe fairest of them all.\u201d It seems this interpretation isn\u2019t using fairest to mean most beautiful but instead most equitable.\u00a0 The clips show off all the iconic imagery fans know and love, from the iconic yellow and blue dress to the stunning forest to the seven dwarves.<\/p>\n

When the film was first announced at Disney\u2019s 2022 D23 Expo, it had a scheduled premiere date of March 2024. Disney later announced the release date would be pushed back to March 21, 2025. According to Deadline<\/em><\/a>, the SAG-AFTRA strike was the reason behind the delay.<\/p>\n

Directed by Marc Webb<\/strong> (500 Days of Summer<\/em>) and written by Barbie<\/em>\u2019s Greta Gerwig<\/strong> and Erin Cressida Wilson<\/strong>, the adaptation has reportedly been in the works since 2016. Along with the geniuses behind-the-scenes, the released cast list \u2014 led by Zegler and Gadot \u2014 has only added to the buzz surrounding the film.<\/p>\n
