Serena Williams<\/strong><\/a> has a message for her haters.<\/p>\n

The 23-time tennis grand slam champion, 43, clapped back at recent social media speculation over whether she had lightened her skin. Williams sparked chatter last week after sharing a video<\/a> of herself at a school event for her and husband Alexis Ohanian<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s daughter, Olympia, 7. (The couple also share daughter Adira, 15 months.)<\/p>\n

During an Instagram Live video<\/a> on Monday, December 2, Williams shared her makeup routine with fans and called out the gossip.<\/p>\n

\u201cUsually, I go back for a third time and then I put just that neutral color that is actually my skin color. And no, for you haters out there, I do not bleach my skin,\u201d Williams said as she applied under-eye makeup.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tSerena Williams and Alexis Ohanian are soaking up their time as a new family of four. \u201cSerena is at home happy and recovering,\u201d a source exclusively reveals in the newest issue of Us Weekly. \u201cEveryone\u2019s healthy and it\u2019s going very well.\u201d Williams, 41, announced via TikTok that she and Ohanian, 40, had welcomed their second [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She added, \u201cThere is a thing called sunlight and in that sunlight, you get different colors.\u201d<\/p>\n

Williams said that she was wearing \u201cstage makeup\u201d in the video that ignited the speculation, explaining that she was volunteering at Olympia\u2019s school play.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, I\u2019m calling you out on this because it is ridiculous that everyone\u2019s like, \u2018Oh, she bleaches skin.\u2019 I\u2019m a dark Black woman, and I love who I am, and I love how I look,\u201d Williams said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s just not my thing, and if people do it, that\u2019s their thing and they have every opportunity and they should \u2026 I don\u2019t judge, but you guys do,\u201d she continued. \u201cThat\u2019s what this world is about and I stay in my lane, the non-judgy one and I keep it. But, no, actually, I don\u2019t bleach my skin. So, can we just kinda clear that up?\u201d<\/p>\n

As well as clearing up speculation about her skin color, Williams is also supporting her husband through a recent health scare. Ohanian, 41, shared last week<\/a> that he had surgery on his thyroid to prevent cancer.<\/p>\n
