Tesla CEO Elon Musk\u2019s $56 billion pay package was struck down once again. In a ruling on Monday<\/a>, Delaware Chancery Court Judge\u00a0Kathaleen St. J. McCormick\u00a0upheld her decision to block the compensation plan over concerns about conflicts of interest following its approval in 2018<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n After warning shareholders in June that Musk\u00a0could leave the company<\/a>\u00a0if his pay package isn\u2019t approved, Tesla held a vote in hopes of reversing the judge\u2019s decision. Shareholders voted to approve<\/a>\u00a0the hefty compensation, but this still wasn\u2019t enough to convince the judge to reinstate it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The decision states that Musk has \u201cno procedural ground for flipping the outcome of an adverse posttrial decision based on evidence they created after trial.\u201d It also calls claims that shareholders can change the outcome of a court decision \u201cdubious generally and unquestionably false\u201d in this scenario.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Judge McCormick granted $345 million to the lawyers representing the Tesla shareholders who sued over the $56 billion plan. Musk is expected to appeal the decision.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
