The 34-year-old actress starred as Nellie LaRoy alongside Brad Pitt<\/a> in the comedy drama film – which was released in 2022 – and Margot still can\u2019t understand why it wasn\u2019t a big hit with cinemagoers.<\/p>\n

During an appearance on the ‘Talking Pictures’ podcast, Margot shared: \u201cI am still saying [why didn’t it prove popular]. I love it.”<\/p>\n

Margot ultimately hopes that the movie will develop cult-classic status.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cI know I am biased because I am very close to the project and I obviously believe in it, but I still can\u2019t figure out why people hated it.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cI wonder if in 20 years people are going to be like, \u2018Wait, ‘Babylon’ didn\u2019t do well at the time?\u2019 Like when you hear that ‘Shawshank Redemption’ was a failure at the time and you\u2019re like, \u2018How is that possible?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\nMeanwhile, Margot is currently “enjoying” the challenges of motherhood<\/p>\n

\nThe movie star and her husband Tom Ackerley recently welcomed their first child – a baby boy whose name and birth date have yet to be revealed – and the loved-up couple are relishing the challenges of parenthood.<\/p>\n

\nA source recently told PEOPLE: “They have been hanging out in [Los Angeles] as a family. Tom’s mom has been visiting from England.”<\/p>\n

\nMargot plans to return to work in 2025 – but, for the time being, the actress is keen to spend some quality time with her baby boy and her husband.<\/p>\n

\nThe insider shared: “Margot has several projects lined up next year. She wants to rest now and spend time with the baby. She’s enjoying motherhood.”<\/p>\n
