Kelly Clarkson<\/strong><\/a> shared the full lyrics of two of her new songs \u2014 and they both appear to slam ex-husband Brandon Blackstock<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201c\u2018Mine \/ Me\u2019 are out everywhere tomorrow \ud83c\udf77\ud83d\udc94\u2600\ufe0f,\u201d the American Idol<\/em><\/a> alum, 40, wrote on Thursday, April 13, via Instagram<\/a>, alongside album art for the two songs scheduled to premiere on Friday, April 14. \u201cHere are the lyrics so y\u2019all can learn them before it\u2019s out. Pre-save it now at the link in bio.\u201d<\/p>\n Both songs discuss going through a breakup<\/a> and overcoming the heartbreak<\/a>. In \u201cMe,\u201d Clarkson sings about how she \u201cput her life on hold\u201d and was stuck \u201calways pleasin\u2019 someone\u201d else. She also calls out her former partner<\/a> as his \u201cinsecurity was the death of you and me.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t need somebody to hold me \/ Don\u2019t need somebody to love me \/ Don\u2019t need somebody to pick these pieces up \/ I put together my broken \/ Let go of the pain I\u2019ve been holdin\u2019 \/ Don\u2019t need to need somebody \/ When I got me,\u201d she belts on the chorus.<\/p>\n The Voice<\/em><\/a> judge released a snippet of a few lines<\/a> from the chorus of \u201cMine\u201d earlier this month, \u201cSomeone\u2019s gonna show you \/ How a heart can be used \/ Like you did mine,\u201d she sings a capella.<\/p>\n \u201cI hope one day someone will take your heart and hold it tight \/ Make you feel like you\u2019re invincible deep inside \/ And right when you think that you\u2019ll try again \/ They cross a line \/ And steal your shine \/ Like you did mine,\u201d she croons the bridge.<\/p>\n Clarkson\u2019s new music is off her upcoming album, Chemistry<\/em><\/a>, which she worked on during her messy split from Blackstock, 46. Us Weekly<\/em> confirmed in June 2020 that the \u201cSince You Been Gone\u201d singer filed for divorce<\/a> from the music manager \u2014 with whom she shares daughter River, 8, and son Remington, 6<\/a> \u2014 after nearly seven years of marriage. The Grammy winner cited \u201cirreconcilable differences\u201d as the reason for their split<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThe whole divorce thing happened and I needed to write it,\u201d Clarkson told Variety<\/em><\/a> in September 2022 about working on new music during the turbulent period of her love life. \u201cAnd then I didn\u2019t know if I was going to release it, because you can be very angry in that state of mind. So some of the songs, they definitely cover the gamut of emotions; there\u2019s everything on the album. It\u2019s almost like the arc of a relationship<\/a>, because the beginning is so beautiful and so sweet, and then it evolves. And sometimes it doesn\u2019t evolve how you want.\u201d<\/p>\n As the exes navigated their new normal, they were engaged in a lengthy legal battle over the next two years as they fought over their assets, finances and custody<\/a> of their two children. Clarkson ultimately agreed in their 2022 divorce settlement to pay Blackstock a one-time amount of $1.3 million in addition to $115,000 per month in spousal support until January 2024, according to documents obtained by Us<\/em>.<\/p>\n The \u201cBreakaway\u201d songstress retained primary custody of their children<\/a> but also consented to pay $45,601 a month in child support until they turn 18 or can financially support themselves.
