Opening up about his challenging journey, the beloved Dawson’s Creek<\/strong><\/em> star James Van Der Beek<\/a>, 47, expressed heartfelt appreciation for his support system \u2013 particularly his wife Kimberly, 42, and their six beautiful children (Olivia, 14, Joshua, 12, Annabel, 10, Emilia, 8, Gwen, 6, and Jeremiah, 3), who have been his pillars of strength during this difficult time.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s been a tough year\u2026 and I’m thankful for all of it,\u201d Van Der Beek wrote via an Instagram post<\/a> shared on Thursday, November 28. \u201cFor the giant life re-direct cancer has placed in my path. For the gift of knowing what it feels like to have friends come through on such a profound level, and in ways I never would have been able to ask for had I not been going through it.\u201d<\/p>\n
