Britney Spears<\/strong><\/a> is thrilled to have finally reunited with her son Jayden<\/strong>, and the pop icon is trying to show the teen and his older brother that she\u2019s left her drama-filled life<\/a> behind.<\/p>\n \u201cJayden coming out to L.A. is massive for Britney, it\u2019s something she\u2019s been dreaming of for so long,\u201d an insider tells Life & Style<\/em> exclusively of the mother-son reunion. \u201cShe knows that if she wants more time with him, and hopefully Sean Preston<\/strong> too, she\u2019s got to keep things calm and drama-free\u201d<\/p>\n Jayden, 18, moved to Hawaii in 2023 with his dad, Kevin Federline<\/strong>, and older brother, Sean Preston, 19. Britney, 42, and her former backup dancer, 46, were married from 2004 to 2007.<\/p>\n The \u201cToxic\u201d singer lost custody of her sons in 2008<\/a> following a dramatic standoff at her Beverly Hills home that left Britney hospitalized under a psychiatric hold. She never regained custody after she was released from the hospital, as her father was granted a legal conservatorship over the pop star\u2019s life the same year. It didn\u2019t end until November 2021, while her boys were primarily raised by Kevin.<\/p>\n \u201cBritney\u2019s doing her best not to go overboard but she really wants to spoil Jayden<\/a> and take him on trips and just soak up every moment she can. But she realizes it\u2019s going to take more than just spoiling him, she knows she needs to show him she\u2019s really changed,\u201d the source shares.<\/p>\n \u201cBritney\u2019s throwing her whole heart into rebuilding her relationship<\/a> with Jayden and making it all work. And her dream is that Sean Preston will follow him to L.A. next,\u201d the insider added.<\/p>\n Over the years, Britney has said how much it hurt her to be away from her boys while they were growing up.<\/p>\n \u201cFrom when they were six to nine years old, I had them 70 percent of the time, and of course, since they\u2019ve been gone, I\u2019ve honestly felt like a huge part of me has died,\u201d the \u201cSometimes\u201d songstress said in a series of since-deleted audio clips posted to Instagram in September 2022.<\/p>\n \u201cLike, literally, I have no purpose anymore. They were my joy. They were my everything. I looked forward to seeing them. That was what I lived for and then all of sudden they were gone, and I was like, \u2018Did my heart just stop beating?’\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n The month prior, Kevin gave a rare interview where he revealed his sons\u2019 status with their mother, after she married longtime boyfriend Sam Asghari<\/strong> in June 2022. The personal trainer filed for divorce in July 2023, and the former couple\u2019s divorce was finalized the following May.<\/p>\n \u201cThe boys have decided they are not seeing her right now,\u201d Kevin told The Daily Mail<\/em><\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s been a few months since they\u2019ve seen her. They made the decision not to go to her wedding.\u201d<\/p>\n Kevin confessed that he believed Britney\u2019s conservatorship \u201csaved\u201d his ex-wife, but the trials and tribulations were hard on him and the kids.<\/p>\n \u201cThis whole thing has been hard to watch, harder to live through, harder to watch my boys go through than anything else,\u201d he told the outlet. \u201cIt\u2019s been tough. It\u2019s the most challenging thing I\u2019ve ever had to do in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n Kevin insisted that while their children still loved their mom, her posting nude photos<\/a> on Instagram and other racy content was extremely upsetting to Jayden and Sean Preston.<\/p>\n \u201cI try to explain to them, \u2018Look, maybe that\u2019s just another way she tries to express herself.\u2019 But that doesn\u2019t take away from the fact of what it does to them.
