The Real Housewives of New Jersey<\/em><\/a> star Dolores Catania<\/strong><\/a> is getting real about her insecurities.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been ashamed of my legs for so long,\u201d Dolores, 53, told Us Weekly<\/em> exclusively while detailing her recent Renuvion treatment<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019ve been to so many doctors. I want a leg lift, and I keep going, and nobody really had the right thing to help me.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Bravo star was most concerned with the area \u201caround the knees\u201d and would never wear shorts or skirts \u2014 especially not on camera.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would say to the camera men, I\u2019d be like, \u2018Please be kind to me.\u2019 Do not get my legs ever in anything. I always wear long dresses,\u201d she said. \u201cYou will never really see me in shorts. It\u2019s been a rare occasion if I did.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dolores said she was \u201cvery self-conscious\u201d<\/a> during her first season on the show. (Dolores has been on RHONJ<\/em> since season 7 in 2016.)<\/p>\n

The Real Housewives of New Jersey star officially joined the series as a cast member in 2016 after having several guest appearances in previous seasons. Throughout her time on the Bravo franchise, her look [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWhen we filmed in Italy, I forget who on Instagram \u2014 it was one of the bad people \u2014 took a picture of a baby\u2019s face on a sonogram and put it next to my knee,\u201d she recalled of the trip, which took place during season 8<\/a>. \u201cI was wearing a pair of ripped jeans in Italy, which I should have never done.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dolores continued, \u201cIt was very early that I didn\u2019t really know the proper way to dress, and [it was] my first time in Europe. They made fun of me. They put a side by side of my knee and this picture.\u201d<\/p>\n

The RHONJ<\/em> star finally found something to help with her legs thanks to Renuvion, a minimally invasive body contouring treatment that targets loose skin at the source. Her doctor in New York City promised \u201cgreat results\u201d and it ended up being exactly what Dolores was looking for.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s how I wound up with it, I just never stopped. I kept looking,\u201d Dolores explained. \u201cI said, eventually something\u2019s going to come out that can actually tighten my skin. It has to happen eventually. So, this is a godsend.\u201d<\/p>\n

She described the process \u201calmost\u201d like Liposuction<\/a> (which Dolores has done \u201cseveral\u201d times over the years.)<\/p>\n

\u201cI was under general anesthesia for about an hour. It was simple. I don\u2019t even think you really have to go under anesthesia for it if you chose not to,\u201d Dolores said. \u201cIt\u2019s a small cannula that goes underneath the skin and it targets the tissue that has no collagen. \u2026 It contracts the loose skin, and that\u2019s what you get your results from.\u201d<\/p>\n
