Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs will not be coming home for the holidays.<\/p>\n
In his ruling Judge Aran Subramanian wrote, that there is “no condition or combination of conditions [that] will reasonably assure the safety of the community” if the disgraced music mogul was released on bail.<\/p>\n
The judge also declared that “there is compelling evidence of Combs’s propensity for violence,” including video obtained by CNN from the 2016 Intercontinental Hotel incident with ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. While the defense argued that the footage was edited and manipulated, the judge responded saying, “There is clearly violence even in the version of the footage submitted by Combs.”<\/p>\n
Prosecutors claim that Combs has engaged in witness tampering from behind bars by making three-way calls and using other inmates\u2019 cell lines. They also claimed he has tried to taint prospective jurors with a PR campaign, pointing to an Instagram post earlier this month that showed his children speaking with him by phone on his birthday from behind bars.<\/p>\n
The judge also pointed to evidence that Combs was not following jail rules \u2013 including the continued use of a messaging service \u2013 in his decision.<\/p>\n
It was also revealed that Combs had communicated with Cassie Ventura earlier this year. She was subpoenaed to testify before the grand jury, and Diddy deleted all messages with her in an effort to conceal the alleged witness tampering.<\/b><\/p>\n
Phone records confirmed that Combs and Ventura exchanged multiple messages from June to August, but they were unable to be recovered from his phone.<\/p>\n
Combs was previously denied bail by two other federal judges.<\/p>\n
A trial date has been set for May 5, 2025.<\/p>\n
