After 20 years, Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry might be ready to return to Wisteria Lane. \u201cI would probably want to do the idea maybe in an earlier decade. Because the character I miss writing the most is actually Wisteria Lane,\u201d he said. \u201cThat was the most fun playground anyone in the history of television has ever had, because we owned the whole street.\u201d<\/p>\n
Cherry continued, \u201cI know that street like the back of my hand. When someone shoots a commercial on that street, I know it instantly, because I know all those houses, I know the geography. It was such a fun place to write for. And there\u2019s times when I go, \u2018You know what? I wonder if I could write Wisteria Lane in like, 1966.’\u201d<\/p>\n
Cherry noted that \u201cabout 70,000 people\u201d have asked him about a reboot. \u201cThe truth of the matter is that I have a couple of ideas to do it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel like if I ever got a chance to do that show again, I\u2019d be better at the job. I learned so much,\u201d added Cherry, explaining that the key to a potential reboot would be determining if \u201cthere is still stuff that needs to be said.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you do a reboot, you have to have a really good artistic reason to do it. And at some point, I\u2019ll sit down with someone and go, \u2018Okay, let\u2019s talk about if there\u2019s a good enough \u201cwhy\u201d to do it,’\u201d he admitted.<\/p>\n
