Let\u2019s, maybe, I don\u2019t know, hip-hop it up a little bit,\u201d he explained, via Deadline<\/a>. \u201cAriana <\/strong>said, \u2018Absolutely not, don\u2019t do it. I want to be Glinda, not Ariana Grande<\/strong> playing Glinda.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n He added that they did try \u201ca new vocal ending\u201d for the song after some urging. <\/p>\n \u201cAriana <\/strong>was a little hesitant about it, but I told her that if I had thought of it for the original show, this is how it would have been. Once she was reassured that this new bit of music was coming out of character, she was on board,\u201d he explained. <\/p>\n
