The great divide. Kody Brown<\/strong><\/a> revealed the moment between him and Meri Brown<\/strong><\/a> that almost fixed their relationship ahead of their official split<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen we moved to Flagstaff, Arizona, I was trying to reconcile with Meri,\u201d Kody, 53, claimed during part 1 of the Sister Wives: One-on-One<\/em><\/a> special, which aired on Sunday, December 18. \u201cMeri gave me this really cool present and I\u2019m in this place, telling Janelle [Brown]<\/strong><\/a>, Christine [Brown] <\/strong><\/a>and Robyn [Brown] <\/strong><\/a>that I might reconcile with Meri.\u201d<\/p>\n The patriarch alleged that in that moment, \u201cChristine lost her s\u2014t<\/a>\u201d and later came to a family party where she yelled \u201cthat she was in a loveless marriage.\u201d (Christine, for her part, announced her split from Kody<\/a> in November 2021 after more than 25 years of marriage.)<\/p>\n Kody hinted that Christine, 50, was not on board with him mending fences with Meri<\/a>, 51, at the time. The TLC personality later revealed that the gift in question was her homemade Rice Krispies Treats given to him on his and Meri\u2019s 30th anniversary.<\/p>\n \u201cShe put a bag full of them. One for every year of our marriage. She included even our bad years,\u201d he explained on Sunday\u2019s episode. \u201cThe expression was sweet and the mood that I was in was the right mood to try and think about reconciliation. It wasn\u2019t what it was.\u201d<\/p>\n The Wyoming native, who shares Leon<\/strong>, 27, with Meri<\/a>, confessed: \u201cI was no longer angry with her for what I had gone through in my life with her. I was willing to see the error of my ways and then work to determine whether we were good with each other anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n Meri, for her part, had no idea the gift left a mark on her estranged spouse. \u201cThat\u2019s interesting that he felt like that. Because that is also the same day that we went out on a picnic<\/a> and he was saying, \u2018No, you\u2019re supposed to have been courting me,\u2019\u201d she remembered. \u201cI said, \u2018Kody, I\u2019ve been waiting for you\u2019 and he\u2019s like, \u2018I\u2019m not coming.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n The Bed and Breakfast owner, who legally married Kody in April 1990<\/a>, revealed that during their 2020 anniversary date, she made a move to try and reconnect.<\/p>\n \u201cAfter I turned off my camera, I put my arms around him. Up around his neck and I said, \u2018What would you do if I just kissed you right now?\u2019\u201d she told tell-all host Sukanya Krishnan<\/strong>. \u201cHe was physically [straight like] a board. And he was backing up. He\u2019s like, \u2018I can\u2019t do that.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Meri added: \u201cIt makes me feel good that he was considering it, but it didn\u2019t last through the evening, I guess.\u201d<\/p>\n The Becoming Sister Wives<\/em> coauthor also noted that she \u201cwould be open\u201d to getting back together<\/a> following the pair\u2019s separation.<\/p>\n Elsewhere in the episode, Meri confirmed that she and Kody had called it quits. She explained that after hearing her former spouse say during season 17 that he no longer \u201cconsidered\u201d himself married to her<\/a>, she got the message.<\/p>\n \u201cThis last anniversary, he\u2019s like, \u2018I don\u2019t even know why you called me, Meri.\u2019 He\u2019s like, \u2018We\u2019re not married. We\u2019re not acting as married,\u2019\u201d the reality star claimed. \u201cAnd I said to him then, \u2018If that\u2019s where we are, don\u2019t you think we should address that publicly?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n The California native<\/a> alleged that Kody didn\u2019t want to \u201caddress it,\u201d and told her that if they went public there would be more \u201cjudgment\u201d about their plural family.<\/p>\n When asked where that leaves the couple, Meri replied, \u201cHe\u2019s already made the decision<\/a>\u201d that they\u2019ve split. She added: \u201cI would [think about reconciliation]. I don\u2019t think that he\u2019s interested.\u201d<\/p>\n Following the first tell-all episode, Kody\u2019s only relationship left intact is with Robyn, 43. The couple legally wed in 2014<\/a> \u2014 and Kody adopted Robyn\u2019s three children from a previous relationship \u2014 after legally divorcing first wife Meri.<\/p>\n While Meri and Kody remained spiritually married, viewers watched their romance fizzle out this past season after 32 years. Janelle, meanwhile, confirmed in December<\/a> that she had been \u201cseparated for several months\u201d from the patriarch after more than 25 years of marriage.<\/p>\n
