Sorry Hannah Montana<\/em><\/a> fans, Miley<\/strong><\/a> and Billy Ray Cyrus<\/strong><\/a> don\u2019t appear to have the same tight relationship that they portrayed on screen for years.<\/p>\n

Billy Ray and ex-wife Tish Cyrus welcomed daughter Miley (born Destiny Hope) in November 1992. While Billy Ray had a career of his own before his association with his daughter \u2014 \u201cAchy Breaky Heart\u201d topped the U.S. Hot Country Songs chart following its release \u2014 working on Hannah Montana<\/em> introduced the singer to a new generation when starring as the fictional Miley and Robby Ray Stewart on Disney Channel from 2006 to 2011.<\/p>\n

After the series wrapped , Billy Ray claimed that starring on Hannah Montana<\/em> \u201cdestroyed\u201d the Cyrus family. (Billy Ray and Tish separated and reconciled on various occasions before breaking up for good<\/a> in April 2022.)<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d take it back in a second. For my family to be here and just everybody be OK, safe and sound and happy and normal would have been fantastic,\u201d he told GQ<\/em><\/a> in 2011. \u201cHeck, yeah. I\u2019d erase it all in a second if I could.\u201d<\/p>\n

Billy Ray and Tish \u2014 who were wed from 1993 to 2022 \u2014 welcomed children Miley, Braison Cyrus and Noah Cyrus together. After Billy Ray and Tish tied [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Miley\u2019s mom, Tish Cyrus<\/strong>, and eldest sister, Brandi Cyrus<\/strong>, later addressed Billy Ray\u2019s past comment, noting they didn\u2019t feel the same way.<\/p>\n

Hannah Montana<\/em> fans will recall the photo of the father-daughter duo laying together in matching black shirts and jeans \u2014 or the controversial photo of Miley smiling with her bare back out as a white sheet covered her chest.<\/p>\n

At the time, Miley spoke fondly of her parents when asked if she has to watch what she says and does.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot really. That\u2019s what my parents are for,\u201d Miley said. \u201cThey\u2019re there to take care of that, and I can just do what I love.\u201d<\/p>\n

Unfollowing Billy Ray<\/h3>\n

Following Billy Ray and Tish\u2019s 2022 divorce, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Miley unfollowed her father on Instagram. This action ignited feud rumors between the two. (Us Weekly<\/em> confirmed that Miley still does not follow Billy Ray.)<\/p>\n

In a series of TikTok videos to promote the release of her August 2023 single, \u201cUsed to Be Young,\u201d Miley looked back on her childhood and got \u201cemotional\u201d while talking<\/a> about her dad.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy dad grew up the opposite of me, so I think that\u2019s where me and my dad\u2019s relationship to fame and success is wildly different,\u201d she said at the time. \u201cHim feeling loved by a big audience impacted him emotionally more than it ever could me. When he feels special or important it\u2019s like healing a childhood wound and I\u2019ve always been made to feel like a star.\u201d<\/p>\n

Billy Ray\u2019s Marriage Drama<\/h3>\n

The rift between Miley and Billy Ray appeared to grow as he married Firerose<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 who is 27 years his junior \u2014 in October 2023.<\/p>\n

Instead of supporting his marriage, Miley appears to be more on board with Tish\u2019s marriage<\/a> to Dominic Purcell<\/strong>. (Miley, Brandi Cyrus<\/strong> and Trace Cyrus<\/strong> were at Tish\u2019s wedding while their siblings Noah Cyrus<\/strong> and Braison Cyrus<\/strong> did not attend.)<\/p>\n

Miley named her mom, sister Brandi, boyfriend Maxx Morando<\/strong> and collaborators Thomas \u201cKid Harpoon\u201d Hull<\/strong>, Michael Pollack<\/strong>, Brian Rajaratnam<\/strong> and Mark \u201cSpike\u201d Stent<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot everyone in the world will get a Grammy, but everyone in this world is spectacular.
