In just over one hour on Friday evening, President-elect Donald Trump<\/strong> announced nine new appointments<\/a> on his social media site Truth Social\u2014including Russell Vought<\/strong>, a longtime ally and key figure in Project 2025, who is set to serve<\/a> as the incoming head of the Office of Management and Budget.<\/p>\n His Friday appointments spree comes as the former president has moved unprecedentedly fast in forming his cabinet and staff. Bessent, who is the founder of the hedge fund Key Square Capital Management and has worked on and off for Soros Fund Management since 1991, backed extending provisions of Trump\u2019s Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017\u2014which is expected to cost trillions of dollars within the decade since it\u2019s passing, according<\/a> to AP based on different economic analyses.<\/p>\n United States House Representative Lori Chavez-DeRemer<\/strong>, a first-term Republican from Oregon who narrowly lost<\/a> her seat this month to Democrat Janelle Bynum<\/strong>, was tapped<\/a> as the next secretary of the Department of Labor. A moderate from a swing district that includes parts of Portland, Chavez-DeRemer \u201cwas one of only a few House Republicans to support major pro-union legislation, and she split her district\u2019s union endorsements\u201d with Bynum, per the New York Times<\/em>. Teamsters President Sean O\u2019Brien<\/strong> urged Trump to pick the Oregonian representative, according<\/a> to Politico.<\/p>\n Trump named<\/a> former Texas state representative and pro football player Scott Turner<\/strong> to lead the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
