Stephen Nedoroscik<\/strong><\/a> and Rylee Arnold<\/strong><\/a> are sharing the story behind the Olympian\u2019s viral mid-dance<\/a> glasses moment during the Dancing With the Stars<\/em><\/a> semifinals.<\/p>\n

The DWTS<\/em> partners were in the middle of their second dance of the night<\/a> \u2013 the tango \u2013 when Nedoroscik, 26, accidentally knocked his glasses off his nose, resulting in the spectacles blocking his vision in one eye while lying crooked on his face.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll season, Stephen has not worn his glasses. And that was kind of our plan throughout because when we do dance with his glasses, sometimes I bump them,\u201d Arnold, 19, began in a video posted via TikTok<\/a> on Wednesday, November 20, to which Nedoroscik added, \u201cAnd there\u2019s always that risk they fly off during a trick or something.\u201d<\/p>\n

But for this tango, I was like, \u2018I want him to wear his glasses. Glasses are Stephen \u2013 that is who he is \u2026 We have practiced all [of our] rehearsals with his glasses on. He has never taken off his glasses to practice the tango at all in rehearsal. And no issues.\u201d<\/p>\n

Noting that she could feel that her partner was \u201cunstable\u201d and that despite him not missing a step, Arnold knew \u201csomething was wrong,\u201d the second-year DWTS<\/em> pro explained that she realized the problem when she looked at Nedoroscik and saw that his glasses were slanted. \u201cRight in the middle of my vision,\u201d the gymnast said.<\/p>\n

Nedoroscik went on to tell fans that if they watch the dance closely, they can see the moment he tried to fix them; however, he wasn\u2019t able to do so because his glasses were \u201cglued into\u201d his hairspray\u201d and they \u201cliterally could not come unstuck.\u201d<\/p>\n

Arnold \u2013 who said she was weighing her options while trying to remain \u201cprofessional\u201d during the fiasco \u2013 made the ultimate decision to try to fix them, but ended up pulling them off her partner\u2019s face completely.<\/p>\n

\u201cGod was listening, because we were at the perfect corner of the dance floor. If it was at any other part of our dance, if I would\u2019ve thrown them, they would\u2019ve stayed on the ballroom floor. They would\u2019ve been an issue,\u201d she continued. \u201cBut it was the most perfect time because I was able to throw them, and we were able to travel and keep doing our dance.\u201d<\/p>\n

After explaining the chaos behind their viral moment, Arnold told followers that she was \u201cso proud\u201d that her partner \u201cdid not skip a beat\u201d in the face of adversity.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe did not miss a step. He kept going. When I took off those glasses we kind of had a sweet moment together,\u201d she recalled.<\/p>\n
