Lindsay Lohan<\/strong><\/a> is a seasoned pro when it comes to romantic comedies \u2014 but having to pretend she got high after eating a bag of weed gummies in her new holiday film Our Little Secret<\/em> presented some challenges.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, I didn\u2019t even know where to go [with that scene], actually,\u201d Lohan, 38, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> ahead of the movie\u2019s release. \u201cAnd I was like, \u2018I just need to be really calm today.\u2019 Because I didn\u2019t know what that feels like! So I was really nervous and I was like, asking people, \u2018Do you know what it\u2019s like? What\u2019s this like?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Lohan portrays Avery in the Netflix flick, who finds herself thrown into chaos when she and her ex Logan (Ian Harding<\/strong>) realize they\u2019re now dating siblings \u2014 and are forced to spend the holidays together. While the pair have an endless amount of baggage to unpack, Logan does come to Avery\u2019s aid when she accidentally snacks on marajuana gummy bears minutes before going to church.<\/p>\n

Harding, for his part, wanted to follow his character\u2019s lead by helping guide Lohan through her acting challenge, but wasn\u2019t sure how to approach the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know what that says if you jump in [and give advice]. I was a little afraid to be, like, \u2018Oh, this is what it\u2019s like!\u2019 and [have someone] be like, \u2018Excuse me, Ian?\u2019\u201d he said. \u201cAlso in the house of God, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n

Not only does Avery ingest the gummies before attending a religious service \u2014 she\u2019s also expected to read a story to the entire congregation, which includes the stepmonster from hell, Erica (Kristin Chenowith<\/strong>). When the words start to jumble up before Avery\u2019s eyes and the Virgin Mary starts speaking to her in real time, it\u2019s clear things have taken a turn for the worse.<\/p>\n

Despite Lohan\u2019s apprehension\u00a0 \u2014 \u201cWhen I read the script, I was like, \u2018I don\u2019t know about this!\u2019\u201d she told Us<\/em> \u2014 Harding and Chenowith fully supported the scene.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was one of my favorite parts! I was like, \u2018Oh, let\u2019s do it,\u201d Harding insisted, while Chenowith added, \u201cSame, same!\u201d<\/p>\n

Spoiler alert \u2014 Lohan ends up crushing the scene in question. And even with her anxiety over how to properly portray someone \u201csuper stoned\u201d (as Harding\u2019s character points out in the film), Lohan \u2014 along with the rest of the cast \u2014were in full agreement that filming the movie brought them all closer together.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was great. It was really fun. It was a fun shoot,\u201d Lohan told Us<\/em>. \u201cWe all spent a lot of time together on the stage that we were shooting on, so we all kind of had to find fun things to do on our down time, whether it was ordering food in from outside, having lunches together. But it was a great experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Lohan has been known for her rom-coms since playing lovable twins Hallie and Annie in 1998\u2019s The Parent Trap,<\/em> she\u2019s also become the Queen of Christmas in the past few years. For her, doing seasonal movies has become more special now that she\u2019s a mom.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve always been sentimental to me, but now they\u2019re even more special and more sentimental because I get to share it with my son and everything is new through his eyes,\u201d she shared. \u201cEverything\u2019s like the first time. So it\u2019s so beautiful. get really mushy about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lohan and her husband, Bader Shammas<\/strong>, welcome their son, Luai, in 2022, and the Mean Girls<\/em> star couldn\u2019t help but gush over his recent major milestones.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll just sit here and talk about him,\u201d she quipped, before adding with a laugh, \u201cHe runs fast now. And, like, knows his food and will [breathe heavy] if it\u2019s rice, or pasta.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chenowith, for her part, is also enjoying leaning into holiday traditions with her husband, Josh Bryant<\/strong> \u2014 just don\u2019t expect her to cook.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think people think that I\u2019m, like, the decorator and the cook. That I\u2019m really good at it,\u201d Chenowith started, before Lohan interjected. \u201cI saw you making Halloween cookies and I was like, \u2018I don\u2019t think she can cook!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Chenowith joked that her attempt at Halloween treats was actually the \u201cfirst time\u201d she ever used her stove, but she is a fan of attending other people\u2019s parties \u2014 and is learning to lean into the decoration aspect of the holidays.<\/p>\n

While their levels of culinary expertise may vary, one thing Lohan, Chenowith and Harding\u00a0all c<\/i>an do is act \u2014 and don\u2019t be surprised if Lohan continues her legacy as a holiday rom-com staple for years to come.<\/p>\n
