Family after all? Matthew McConaughey<\/strong><\/a> has been longtime pals with Woody Harrelson<\/strong> <\/a>\u2014 but the Dallas Buyers Club<\/em> star suspects their parents had a more intimate relationship.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIn Greece a few years ago, we\u2019re sitting around talking about how close we are and our families. And [we] did some math and found out that his dad was on furlough at the same time that my mom and dad were\u00a0on\u00a0<\/b>their second divorce. Then, there\u2019s possible receipts in a place that\u2019s out in West Texas where there might have been \u2026\u00a0a\u00a0meeting or a \u2018knew\u2019 moment.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n McConaughey\u2019s mother tied the knot with his father, James Donald, three times before his death in 1992.\u00a0In his 2020 memoir, Greenlights<\/em>, the Wedding Planner<\/em> star revealed that his dad died by \u201chaving a heart attack when he climaxed\u201d during sex with the Texas native\u2019s mom.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n On Tuesday, McConaughey quipped to \u201cLet\u2019s Talk\u201d\u00a0host Kelly Ripa<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0on Tuesday that DNA testing should be part of his upcoming project with Harrelson, 61, titled Brothers From Another Mother<\/em> \u2014 an AppleTV+ \u201codd couple\u201d comedy that features the two men playing versions of themselves as they attempt to live together on McConaughey\u2019s Texas ranch with their respective families<\/a>, according to the network\u2019s official logline.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The\u00a0Magic Mike<\/em> <\/a>actor\u00a0and Cheers<\/em> <\/a>alum first formed a bond after starring together in 1998\u2019s Surfer Dude<\/em> before reuniting the\u00a0following year for EdTV<\/em>. In 2014, they joined forces once again for HBO\u2019s True Detective<\/em>.\u00a0Though the actors\u00a0couldn\u2019t be closer as friends and coworkers, the twosome do have their differences \u2014 something that will be explored in the upcoming series.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWhile Woody and I are the best of friends we have different approaches in how we raise our children and how we go about certain things,\u201d McConaughey explained. \u201cI may be a little more organized in certain things. This is a love story. Other times, it means tough love. Affluent people can give their kids everything they want, but they\u2019re not usually going to get what they need.
