The Golden Bachelorette<\/span><\/i><\/a> star <\/span>Joan Vassos<\/b><\/a> revealed if she and fianc<\/span>\u00e9<\/span> Chock Chapple<\/b><\/a> plan to televise their wedding.<\/p>\n \u201cYou\u2019re absolutely not going to see a TV wedding in three months,\u201d Joan, 61, told Us Weekly<\/em><\/a> in an interview published on Tuesday, November 19.<\/p>\n Joan and Chock, 61, got engaged<\/a> during the season finale on November 13, just like The Golden Bachelor<\/em>\u2019s Gerry Turner<\/strong> and Theresa Nist<\/strong> during season 1 in November 2023. However, Gerry, 72, and Theresa, 71, didn\u2019t waste any time and they got married during a televised wedding in January. The former couple eventually announced their split three months later in April.<\/p>\n \u201cI loved that ending for Gerry and Theresa. The reason we\u2019re not having a wedding in three months has nothing to do with Gerry and Theresa,\u201d Joan said about her and Chock\u2019s reasoning for not rushing into marriage. \u201cI just don\u2019t want to have another thing I have to plan right now.\u201d<\/p>\n She continued, \u201cWhen we come together for a wedding, which could be a TV wedding, might not be, it won\u2019t be in three months. I just don\u2019t want to have another thing to plan right now.\u201d<\/p>\n While Joan and Chock plan to take their time when it comes to their wedding, she insisted that they\u2019re enjoying their engagement<\/a>. \u201cWe are loving being together, and I want to take the time for us to get to know each other\u2019s families and friends,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n After they confirmed their engagement, Joan and Chock revealed their plans to spend time in New York City. However, they clarified their intentions<\/span><\/a> and explained <\/span>they won\u2019t be in the city full time<\/span><\/a> while speaking to the outlet.<\/p>\n \u201cChock has a business in Kansas. I have kids and grandkids in Maryland. We know we\u2019re going to spend time in [each place], but then we have this really fun plan: Both of us have always dreamed and finally, at this weird stage in life, are making this dream come true \u2014 to live in a big city, specifically New York,\u201d Joan explained. \u201cWe both love the energy. There\u2019s culture, and we both have friends there.\u201d<\/p>\n The couple also gushed about why they\u2019re a great match, with Chock explaining that they \u201cget along so well.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI call it the 5 percent. There\u2019s 5 percent you usually don\u2019t bend on. We\u2019ve [said], \u2018If it\u2019s important to you, make sure the other one knows it.\u2019 The other 95 percent at our age is flexible,\u201d he said about the mindset. \u201cWe\u2019ve been able to spend a good amount of time together, and we\u2019ve had to deal with some stuff, from family matters to business matters. We work so well together. And a lot of it is, I just let Joan take charge! She\u2019s very good at it too. I call her the matriarch. She goes, \u2018Don\u2019t call me the matriarch.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n While Chock said that he also appreciated Joan\u2019s \u201cpatience,\u201d she explained that their romance works because they know they \u201chave to respect each other\u2019s existing lives but also prioritize each other.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
