Cheryl Cole<\/strong><\/a> attended ex-boyfriend Liam Payne<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s funeral on Wednesday, November 20.<\/p>\n

The singer looked somber as she walked to the church hosting Payne\u2019s private funeral<\/a> in Amersham, England. Cole, 41, wore all black and sunglasses as she entered solo. Cole and Payne share 7-year-old son Bear.<\/p>\n

Payne died at age 31 on October 16 after falling from the third-floor balcony at a hotel in Argentina.<\/p>\n

His parents, Karen<\/strong> and Geoff Payne<\/strong>, were seen holding back tears<\/a> at the funeral on Wednesday. Payne\u2019s girlfriend, Kate Cassidy<\/strong>, was also in attendance<\/a> along with his former One Direction bandmates<\/a>, Harry Styles<\/strong>, Liam Payne<\/strong>, Zayn Malik<\/strong> and Louis Tomlinson<\/strong>. Two of Cole\u2019s Girls Aloud bandmates \u2014 Nicola Roberts<\/strong> and Kimberley Walsh<\/strong> \u2014 were also photographed.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tLiam Payne and ex Cheryl Cole first crossed paths in 2008 but didn\u2019t start their romance until much later. In 2008, Payne auditioned to be on X Factor for the first time at age 14. Cole was one of the judges alongside Simon Cowell, Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh. \u201cLet\u2019s address the elephant in the [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Cole was photographed without Bear on Wednesday, but there was a flower arrangement that read \u201cdaddy\u201d on display outside the church. Payne and Cole met in 2008 when he was a contestant on The X Factor UK<\/em><\/a>, but their romantic relationship didn\u2019t start until years later. They were together from 2016 to 2018 and welcomed Bear in March 2017, one year before parting ways.<\/p>\n

Cole addressed Payne\u2019s death<\/a> in a social media statement posted days after his sudden passing.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs I try to navigate this earth-shattering event and work through my own grief at this indescribably painful time, I\u2019d like to kindly remind everyone that we have lost a human being,\u201d she wrote on October 18, sharing a photo of Payne holding a baby Bear. \u201cLiam was not only a pop star and celebrity, he was a son, a brother, an uncle, a dear friend and a father to our 7-year-old son. A son that now has to face the reality of never seeing his father again.\u201d<\/p>\n
