Google Meet is making it easier for everyone to position themselves in video calls without having to move the camera or mess around with the webcam\u2019s frame adjustment settings. The automatic framing feature<\/a> that was launched for Google Workspace accounts in 2022 is now rolling out for all Google Meet users<\/a>, centering users in the middle of the screen to correct weird camera angles.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The toggle is enabled by default, but can be switched off by clicking the three-dot menu before you join a call, selecting \u201cApply visual effects,\u201d and clicking \u201cAppearance.\u201d It\u2019s similar to Apple\u2019s Center Stage feature, but Google\u2019s version doesn\u2019t track users as they move to keep them in frame \u2014 which can help reduce distractions in meetings.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Google\u2019s automatic framing happens only once before joining a call, but users can manually reposition themselves by hovering over their video tile and clicking \u201creframe.\u201d Running virtual backgrounds is an exception, with the feature then continuously keeping the user centered to prevent the background itself from reframing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
