Uber has launched a new airport-only fare option<\/a> in its ride-sharing app called UberXXL. It surpasses UberXL\u2019s single X by guaranteeing rides with trunk space that can handle large families with lots of big bags \u2014 no more sitting at the curb trying to figure out what to do next.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The new option is available today at more than 60 airports worldwide, with more coming down the road. In terms of pricing, UberXXL will sit somewhere between UberXL and Uber Black, the company says. XXL also adds a stopgap before Uber Shuttle<\/a>, the charter-style option it launched in New York last month that lets you book up to five seats for a trip to the airport with discounted rates and protection against surge pricing. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n There\u2019s also a new Uber widget that will let you request rides to your most frequented locations, such as work and home, directly from your iPhone\u2019s home screen. And when you use Uber Reserve to preschedule a ride to an airport, a new Flight Capture feature lets you enter your flight details to receive recommended leave times It can also prompt riders to adjust if a flight is delayed, and schedule multiple stops along the way.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Uber is also expanding the availability of UberX Share<\/a> rides, which offer lower rates for splitting the ride with up to one other traveler, to select airports, including EWR, IAD, SFO, and a few others. If it can\u2019t find a rider who\u2019s going your direction within five minutes of requesting the ride, Uber will let you travel alone with the discount. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
