It\u2019s the end of an era.<\/p>\n<p>Now, Ryan Seacrest is at the helm. And Seacrest is the epicenter of the recent changes.<\/p>\n<p>Two months in, some of these critics have softened on him. But others have a question: can he read?<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Joey&#039;s Bonus Round! | S42 | Wheel of Fortune\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/cfz1Uwsf3iE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>One critic took to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/WheelOfFortune\/comments\/1gspert\/does_ryan_know_how_to_say_numbers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Reddit<\/a> to ask if Ryan Seacrest knows \u201chow to say numbers?\u201d The redditor observed that he doesn\u2019t seem to read prize amounts aloud.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe just flips the gold envelope open, looks down at it, and then at the contestant,\u201d the social media user described. \u201cI\u2019m starting to wonder if maybe he just can\u2019t read numbers?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Multiple commenters hit back. This was not a <em>Wheel of Fortune<\/em> snark channel. Some pointed out that Ryan Seacrest reads numbers in other contexts. Not for an adult.<\/p>\n<p>Ultimately, Ryan Seacrest is a polarizing figure. Some people really like him. The longer that a show has one specific host or set or format, the harder that it is for the audience to accept updates.<\/p>\n<p>Pat Sajak is 78 years old. He could not continue to host <em>Wheel of Fortune<\/em> forever. But what about fans?<\/p>\n<p>For one thing, everyone loves Vanna White. She is a household name and a beloved figure \u2014 and has been for decades.<\/p>\n<p>Also, many fans are grateful that the network took the risk of a new host instead of ending <em>Wheel of Fortune<\/em> when Pat Sajak stepped down.
