Cobra Kai<\/em> stunned fans with a shocking death during the second part of season 6<\/a> \u2014 and Alicia Hannah-Kim<\/strong> is opening up about how the cast reacted to the \u201cunprecedented\u201d episode and how it will affect her character, Sensei Kim, going forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were all shocked when we read that script,\u201d Hannah-Kim, 37, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> about the episode 10 twist. \u201cAnd then actually the filming of it was so awful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Warning: Spoilers below for season 6 part 2 of Cobra Kai.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The surprise came in part 2\u2019s final moments when Kwon Jae-Sung (Brandon H. Lee<\/strong>) and Axel Kovacevic (Patrick Luwis<\/strong>) engaged in the Sekai Taikai brawl. After a knockdown, drag-out fight between all the dojos, the duo came face to face in a showdown that ended with Axel falling on a knife and ultimately dying from the stab wound.<\/p>\n

The scene was a turning point in the series for both fans and the cast.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe all love Brandon so much and just to see him lying there was really deeply emotional, but it just suddenly felt like Cobra Kai<\/em> got really real in that sense, in that moment because there\u2019s fight scenes, people get hurt, but people get back up again. But this is just irreparable damage,\u201d Hannah-Kim told Us.<\/em> \u201cThat\u2019s it. He\u2019s dead, so it was shocking. That\u2019s a final cut and call there. And it was really sad.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for her character, the actress believes Kwon\u2019s death will knock \u201csome sense into\u201d Kim going forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think you can walk the walk and talk the talk as much as you want, but when a consequence hits you in the face like that, and she does care deeply about Kwon; he is a difficult student for her, but it\u2019s still one of her students,\u201d Hannah-Kim explained. \u201cI think, you know, as severe as she is, she very much sees them as people. And so, to lose him will be devastating for her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hannah-Kim noted that the aftermath of Kwon\u2019s death will \u201cprompt her to make some very interesting choices.\u201d<\/p>\n

Season 6 of Cobra Kai<\/em><\/a> \u2014 which is the final season of the hit Netflix series \u2014 introduced fans to a softer side of the typically hard-edged Kim, particularly when she and Miyagi-Do master Chozen (Yuji Okumoto<\/strong>) developed an unexpected romance.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was shocked when showrunners [Josh Heald <\/b>and Jon Hurwitz<\/b>] told me that I would have a little romantic interlude. My jaw hit the floor,\u201d Hannah-Kim said of hearing she was going to get a love interest on the show. \u201cI was like, \u2018With who?! And what? And how?\u2019 And then I got really awkward on set with Yuji. Because I was like, \u2018Oh my gosh, this is happening!\u2019 But it\u2019s really delightful as an actor.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tReboots and revivals may seem like a recent phenomenon, but they\u2019ve been a Hollywood tradition since the industry\u2019s earliest days. The practice doesn\u2019t just extend to remaking the same movie again and again \u2014 it also encompasses classic films being turned into television series. Casablanca, for example, winner of the 1943 Oscar for Best Picture, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Hannah-Kim described the passionate on-screen kiss that happens between her and Okumoto, revealing that the extras on set had no idea that was going to happen.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was just shoving gum into my mouth before and so was Yuji,\u201d she said with a laugh. \u201cBecause we were both married and I was like, \u2018Yuji, I haven\u2019t kissed another man in so long. Get ready!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

But will their love go the distance? Fans are going to have to wait until part 3, but Hannah-Kim believes the pair have \u201ca lot of things in common\u201d and wouldn\u2019t be surprised at the possibility.<\/p>\n
