While Jordan Fisher<\/strong> <\/a>and wife Ellie Woods<\/strong><\/a> eagerly prepared to welcome their first child in 2021<\/a>, the actor received some unexpected news about his health.<\/p>\n \u201cWe were four months pregnant, five months pregnant [and] I always wanted to be a dad. [I] knew that I was about to achieve that goal and take on the biggest and best project of my life with my partner [and] my best friend,\u201d the\u00a0Dancing With the Stars<\/a>\u00a0<\/i>season 25 champ, 28, said during his Tuesday, April 11, appearance on The<\/i>\u00a0Drew Barrymore Show<\/i><\/a>. \u201cI was diagnosed with an eating disorder that I did not know I had. I just knew that I had reflux and all of these things that were making it difficult for me to eat.\u201d<\/p>\n Fisher, who had not publicly addressed his eating disorder battle<\/a> prior to the talk show episode, told host Drew Barrymore<\/strong><\/a> that his struggles were a result of past \u201ctraumas\u201d from his childhood<\/a> that he never properly dealt with at the time. The\u00a0Turning Red\u00a0<\/i>voice actor has since praised therapy for helping him heal<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cMy last couple months of [a work] contract were very, very difficult physical times for me,\u201d the\u00a0Flash<\/a>\u00a0<\/i>alum \u2014 who welcomed son Riley with Woods last year<\/a> \u2014 added on Tuesday. \u201cI lost 30 pounds<\/a> [and] I actually never talked about this out loud on a platform like this at all, and man, I\u2019m so glad I made it through that desert because here we are now.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cI am so much stronger!\u201d<\/p>\n The\u00a0To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You\u00a0<\/i>actor and Woods, who met as children in the same dance class<\/a> in Alabama, tied the knot at Florida\u2019s Walt Disney World Resort<\/a> in November 2020. Nearly one year later, they revealed that they were expecting their first child<\/a>. Riley William, now 10 months, arrived in June 2022<\/a>.<\/p>\n Fisher previously opened up to Us Weekly <\/i>about the beginning of his romance<\/a> with the 25-year-old Murder Capital actress<\/i>. <\/i><\/span>\u201c[Ellie] and I grew up together in Birmingham,\u201d he said in November 2017. \u201cWe never disconnected. One day we were both kind of like, \u2018Oh, hey. Maybe we try this?\u2019 And we did and it worked.\u201d<\/p>\n The Broadway star added at the time: \u201cBeing able to have somebody that you love and that loves you and can accept all of the things you have to give them after a long, hard day of rehearsal, it\u2019s unbelievable.\u201d<\/p>\n The\u00a0Hello, Goodbye and Everything in Between<\/i>\u00a0actor, who is currently starring in the Broadway revival of\u00a0Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street<\/i><\/a>, has since been candid about how raising Riley has given him and Woods so much joy.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m a daddy. It is the best club in the world,\u201d he gushed during a February appearance on\u00a0Live With Kelly and Ryan<\/i><\/a>. \u201cHe\u2019s 8 months now, going on 33.
