Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a> and Gracie Abrams<\/strong><\/a>\u2019 friendship was on full display during the third Eras Tour <\/i><\/a>concert in Toronto.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Eras Tour<\/i> has been going on about a year and a half now, and so, a lot of life can happen in the phase of that tour and a lot of art can happen in the course of that tour,\u201d Swift, 34, said during the acoustic section of her Saturday, November 16, show at the Rogers Centre<\/a>, per social media footage. \u201cI think you\u2019ll remember the genius brilliant young lady you saw earlier tonight, Gracie Abrams. So, storytime, Gracie was opening up for me a year ago on the Eras Tour<\/i>.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cWe had so many fun memories during that tour, one of which we were celebrating her getting nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammys, we had, like, eleventy-hundred Cosmos, went back to my house and just started writing a song. The coolest thing ever has just happened, this week, because of you \u2014 you guys cared enough about that song when it went out into the world on her album The Secret of Us <\/i>and you got that song nominated for a Grammy<\/a> this week.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift and Abrams, 25, received a 2024 Grammy nod<\/a> in the Best Pop Duo\/Group Performance category for their \u201cUs.\u201d duet, which dropped this summer.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tGracie Abrams was a self-proclaimed Swiftie before she actually became friends with Taylor Swift. \u201cEvery formative memory in my life is paired with a Taylor Swift song that helped me get through,\u201d Abrams told Vanity Fair in a July 2023 profile. \u201cMy boyfriend the other day did the thing where we shuffled her discography and [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cYou can\u2019t even imagine, like, the phone call between the two of us when the nominations came out and we saw that song was nominated,\u201d Swift recalled. \u201cIt was just screeching. It wasn\u2019t even words, it was just feral screeching for the entire call.\u201d<\/p>\n

To celebrate the achievement, Swift and Abrams \u201cwanted to figure out a way to say thank you\u201d to the fans.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe put together a little something, so, will you please welcome to the stage, Gracie Abrams,\u201d Swift added on Saturday, pointing to the \u201cThat\u2019s So True\u201d singer as she strutted toward the microphone stand.<\/p>\n

The two musicians delighted fans with a guitar mash-up<\/a> of \u201cUs.\u201d and Swift\u2019s 1989 <\/i>song \u201cOut of the Woods.\u201d They concluded the number with a sweet hug before Swift went on to combine \u201cYou\u2019re On Your Own, Kid\u201d and \u201cLong Story Short\u201d for her piano selection.<\/p>\n

Swift and Abrams have been friends since 2022 when the Tortured Poets Department <\/i>artist invited the latter to be one of the opening acts for her Eras Tour <\/i>when it launched the next year.<\/p>\n
