It\u2019s time to hit the mat for Cobra Kai<\/em> season 6 part 2<\/a>. Netflix<\/a> has released the second batch of episodes in the Karate Kid<\/em> spinoff\u2019s supersized sixth season, which is being split into epic three parts. But is the story ending here, or can fans look forward to a Cobra Kai<\/em> season 7?\n<\/p>\n Unfortunately, the dojos will be closing up for good after Cobra Kai season 6, so there will not be a season 7. Netflix and the series\u2019 creators, Josh Heald<\/strong>, Jon Hurwitz<\/strong> and Hayden Schlossberg<\/strong>, announced their decision to end Cobra Kai<\/em> back in January 2023 in tandem with the season 6 renewal announcement.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen Daniel LaRusso arrived in the Valley with his mother in 1984, little did he know that his life was about to be forever changed,\u201d a letter from the All Valley Tournament Committee written on All Valley Karate Championships stationary read. \u201cThe same went for three young kids from New Jersey who hadn\u2019t yet met one another. Daniel\u2019s journey from bullied teen to underdog hero became an indelible part of our childhoods, and something that we would always carry with us in our hearts.\u201d<\/p>\n The letter continued, \u201cReacquainting the world with The Karate Kid<\/em> universe has been our humble honor. Making Cobra Kai<\/em> has allowed us to join the same hallowed dojo once inhabited by the great Robert Mark Kamen<\/strong>, John Avildsen, Jerry Weintraub, and all the amazing original cast members. It has also enabled us to play sense, expanding the original storylines and birthing a new generation of underdogs. We\u2019ve never once taken this opportunity for granted.\u201d<\/p>\n Josh, Jon and Hayden added that it was always their intention to end Cobra Kai<\/em> \u201con our terms, leaving the Valley in the time and place we\u2019ve always imagined.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSo it is with immense pride and thankfulness that we are able to announce that achievement,\u201d they noted before revealing that season 6 would be the last.<\/p>\n \u201cWhile this may be a bittersweet day for the fandom, the Miyagiverse has never been stronger. This fandom is the BEST on the planet and we hope to be telling more Karate Kid<\/em> stories with you down the line. Because as we all know, Cobra Kai Never Dies,\u201d the announcement concluded. \u201cIn the meantime, strap in for the BIGGEST SEASON OF COBRA KAI YET. No Mercy.\u201d<\/p>\n While fans may be disappointed that Cobra Kai<\/em> season 7 isn\u2019t happening, they can still look forward to season 6 part 3. Netflix has not announced the exact release date for the final five episodes of the season, but they are expected to arrive in 2025.<\/p>\n Season 6 will have 15 episodes in total. Parts 1 and 2, containing five episodes each, are both streaming on Netflix now.<\/p>\n Cobra Kai<\/em> may be coming to an end, but this appears to be only the beginning of the \u201cMiyagiverse\u201d that the show\u2019s creators have built. As Josh, Jon and Hayden teased in their season 6 announcement, it\u2019s possible fans will see other Karate Kid<\/em> and Cobra Kai<\/em> spinoffs in the future.<\/p>\n In July 2024, the creators revealed that they were thinking of a prequel series about Daniel LaRusso\u2019s (Ralph Macchio<\/strong>) sensei, Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita, who died in 2005), as well as other spinoff ideas.<\/p>\n \u201cCobra Kai<\/em> itself is, in a way, a spinoff of The Karate Kid<\/em>. We took the bully from The Karate Kid<\/em>, we took that branch and created our own tree out of it, and we feel like we could do that with any of the characters on the show,\u201d Hayden told The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a>. \u201cWe definitely thought about that as we\u2019re tying things up with all the characters. We think about the fun of following them in their futures and in, addition, we think about the past.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued, \u201cIt is one of the reasons why we did the Miyagi box story this season. It opens up all these questions about Mr. Miyagi and what his life was like, and that\u2019s been something we\u2019ve been wanting to do for a while. We\u2019ve talked to Robert Mark Kamen, the writer of the original Karate Kid<\/em> who based this whole movie off his sensei who studied Okinawan karate; we\u2019ve been talking about all this Miyagi backstory with him, which helped us with season six stuff.
