Josh Altman<\/strong> and wife Heather Altman<\/strong> put a lot of thought into making their Million Dollar Listing L.A.<\/em> exit.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis wasn\u2019t an overnight discussion where we just decided the night before, \u2018Hey, let\u2019s do this,\u2019\u201d Josh, 45, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> while promoting his partnership with Fontainebleau Las Vegas. \u201cThis has been something that has kind of been coming up over the past 24 months.\u201d<\/p>\n

Josh explained that as he and Heather, 39, spent more quality time with their two kids \u2014 daughter, Lexi, 7, and son Ace, 5, \u2014 the pair, who have been married since 2016, realized they wanted to focus on making more memories with their family.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can always go out there and sell houses. We can always go out there and do all these things, but we\u2019ll never get the time back when our kids are this age,\u201d he reflected. \u201cIt\u2019s funny, you start hanging out with your friends who have older kids and they go, \u2018Spend the time with them now because in a few years, they don\u2019t wanna hang out with you anymore!\u2019 Which is probably the best advice I\u2019ve gotten in a long time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJosh Altman and Heather Altman have nothing but fond memories of their time on Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles. \u201cWhat can we say!!! Million Dollar Listing LA has been a hell of a ride,\u201d Josh, 45, and Heather, 39, captioned a joint Instagram post on Thursday, October 31. \u201cThe memories, friendships, experiences, sales, the highs, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

His pals\u2019 observations and words of wisdom made Josh realize he wanted to take a step back from work to prioritize being a dad.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would rather slow it down now, hang with them and then when they\u2019re teenagers and they want nothing to do with their parents,\u201d he added. \u2018Then I can go back to doing everything that we had done.\u201d<\/p>\n

Josh has been a staple on Million Dollar Listing L.A.<\/em><\/a> since 2004. Heather, for her part, has also appeared on the series. In October, Josh announced that both he and Heather were leaving the show<\/a>. While Josh has a lot of fond memories of his time on Million Dollar Listing L.A.<\/em>, he said he knew that now was his \u201ctime\u201d to depart.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt felt right,\u201d he explained. \u201cIt didn\u2019t feel right last year when we were thinking about doing it, but it did feel right this year.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Josh was vacillating on when would be the best time to leave the series<\/a>, he explained that the episode he and Heather did in Las Vegas in season 14 played a role.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter we filmed that Vegas episode, the previous season before this last season, when we finished, \u2026 if I remember correctly, Heather looked at me and said, \u2018Yeah, how much longer do you think you wanna do this?\u2019\u201d he recalled. \u201cOf course, it\u2019s been incredible and we\u2019re so blessed to have that stage and to have that show as part of our life up to this point. But as we [decided] to start living and opening businesses in different areas and trying new things, it really started then. I think she brought it up but she knows me better than I know me. So, I think she saw it in my face.\u201d<\/p>\n
