Eva Longoria<\/a> feels “privileged” to live in Spain and Mexico instead of the “dystopian” United States.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Eva Longoria is glad to no longer be living in the United States<\/p>\n
The 49-year-old star and her husband Jos\u00e9 Bast\u00f3n – who have six-year-old son Santiago together – have split their time between the two after Eva grew disillusioned and disappointed with California.<\/p>\n
She told Marie Claire magazine: \u201cI\u2019m privileged. I get to escape and go somewhere. Most Americans aren\u2019t so lucky.<\/p>\n
“They\u2019re going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them.\u201d<\/p>\n
The ‘Desperate Housewives’ actress noted she spent her “whole adult life” in and around Los Angeles, but noticed things “changing” years ago.<\/p>\n
\nShe added: “The vibe was different. And then Covid happened, and it pushed it over the edge.<\/p>\n
\n“Whether it\u2019s the homelessness or the taxes, not that I want to s*** on California \u2014 it just feels like this chapter in my life is done now.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nEva was bitterly disappointed to see Donald Trump beat Kamala Harris in the recent presidential election, but she “would like to think” the fight will continue.<\/p>\n
\nDescribing the US as “a scary place”, she claimed: “If he keeps his promises, it’s going to be a scary place.”<\/p>\n
\nShe also hit out the “strained relationship” between the US and Mexico, particularly with some people in the States calling for the wall on the boarder despite enjoying much of its southern neighbour’s culture.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “I feel like the strained relationship between us and Mexico needs to be repaired, and I think culture and food can easily celebrate the best things of a country.<\/p>\n
\n“The people who were screaming, \u2018Build that wall!\u2019 are the same people that are going to Taco Tuesday.<\/p>\n
\n“And I\u2019m like, \u2018No, no, no. You don\u2019t get to margarita out and s*** on the culture that gave you the taco and gave you the margarita. You have to go, \u2018This came from there. There must be good things.\u2019 “<\/p>\n
