It\u2019s not uncommon for Bachelor<\/em> winners or Bachelorette leads<\/a> to slip a Neil Lane<\/strong> diamond<\/a> on their finger during the finale of their respective seasons \u2014 but how many former contestants get to keep their rings<\/a>? Us Weekly<\/em> has rounded up the answers, Bachelor Nation.<\/p>\n There are two ways for Bachelor Nation members to keep the engagement ring gifted to them by the ABC series. Make it down the aisle \u2026 or stay engaged for at least two years.<\/p>\n \u201cAfter a certain number of years, you get to keep it anyway. But after months \u2026 it goes back,\u201d former host Chris Harrison<\/strong> confirmed to Entertainment Weekly<\/em><\/a> in 2016 before joking that he keeps the rocks after a breakup. \u201cThey\u2019re on a necklace and I\u2019ll wear it around sometimes. I\u2019ll wear it out [and] I have, like, 20 different engagement rings.\u201d<\/p>\n Chris added Neil, the designer who has been supplying rings for the franchise for more than a decade, may not realize that some of the jewelry is returned. During a 2016 interview with StyleCaster<\/a>, Neil quipped that the diamonds go to \u201cring heaven\u201d if the couple doesn\u2019t last.<\/p>\n \u201cAfter they get the ring, I don\u2019t have a say in it, and what happens after that, I don\u2019t know,\u201d he said. \u201cI do make these rings with a great deal of passion \u2014 I have my whole staff working on them, with a lot of romance involved. And we hope it lasts forever. And surprisingly, there are some that are doing amazingly well.\u201d<\/p>\n Season 14 Bachelorette Becca Kufrin<\/strong><\/a> once joked about a \u201cring graveyard,\u201d telling the \u201cBachelor Party\u201d podcast in December 2020: \u201cThey get to keep them all locked away, hidden from everyone \u2014 all the scorned rings.\u201d<\/p>\n There are exceptions to the two-year rule, however. Season 6 Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky<\/strong><\/a> revealed on Us Weekly<\/em>\u2019s \u201cHere for the Right Reasons\u201d podcast<\/a> in 2020 that producers came to collect her engagement ring after her 2011 split from Roberto Martinez<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 but she refused to hand it over.<\/p>\n \u201c[We were together for] 18 months and the reason I know that so well is because I remember they wanted to, like, take my engagement ring away. And I was like, \u2018No, this is part of my history, like, this is mine, you cannot have it!\u2019\u201d Ali recalled. \u201cPer the contract, it was supposed to be two years, but they let me keep it.\u201d<\/p>\n While the former reality TV star is now happily married to Kevin Manno<\/strong><\/a>, with whom she shares daughter Molly and son Riley, Ali admitted she was \u201cemotionally distraught\u201d from the breakup at the time.<\/p>\n \u201cI was like, \u2018You\u2019re not taking this from me, like, I\u2019m keeping it.\u2019 I put my foot down,\u201d she told Us<\/em>. \u201cAnd then they were fine with it.
