The Monster Hunter<\/em> franchise is bringing, well, monster hunting to your smartphone. Capcom has announced that it\u2019s teaming up with TiMi \u2014 the studio behind games like Call of Duty: Mobile<\/em> and Pok\u00e9mon Unite<\/em> \u2014 for a spinoff called Monster Hunter Outlanders<\/em><\/a>. It\u2019s described as an \u201copen-world survival game\u201d that\u2019s playable either solo or co-op with up to four players. It sounds like Outlanders<\/em> will feature the core aspects of a MonHun<\/em> experience (namely, the exploring, hunting, and crafting) but with live service and social elements typical of a mobile game.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n That recent success, combined with TiMi\u2019s history and MonHun<\/em>\u2019s pedigree as a portable experience, are positive signs this could be more than a mobile cash grab. It might be some time before we get to check out the game for ourselves, however, as it doesn\u2019t currently have a release date. Capcom says there will be \u201cseveral play tests in advance\u201d of the eventual launch.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
