Jim Gaffigan<\/strong> is getting candid about his weight loss journey \u2014 and how deciding to use the drug Mounjaro has helped.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was so paranoid that I was going to be nauseous that I kind of put it off, but then it kind of worked,\u201d Gaffigan, 58, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> while attending the 18th annual Stand Up for Heroes Gala in New York City on Monday, November 11. \u201cIt\u2019s weird because we live in this society where people who eat too much are told that they just don\u2019t have any self control. \u2026 There are people that just have no \u2018off\u2019 button to eat, right?\u201d<\/p>\n

The stand-up comedian went on to explain that it\u2019s \u201creally fascinating\u201d how people have \u201cempathy\u201d for those struggling with other addictions, but there\u2019s \u201cless sympathy\u201d for somebody who battles with \u201ctoo much eating.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI would eat when I was hungry and I would eat when I was happy and eat when I was sad, and I would just eat. It was my reward,\u201d he shared with Us,<\/em> noting that it\u2019s \u201codd\u201d that there\u2019s a \u201cnegative stigma\u201d surrounding the decision to use weight loss drugs. \u201cIt\u2019s obviously personal, but I don\u2019t think there\u2019s anything wrong with it. But then again, anonymity is a thing surrounding a lot of struggles like that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tWhoopi Goldberg is the latest celeb to shed weight through the help of diabetes medications like Mounjaro and Ozempic. During the Monday, May 13, episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Goldberg revealed that Mounjaro helped her lose the weight of \u201calmost two people.\u201d Clarkson, 42, prompted the weight loss talk when she quipped that Goldberg, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Gaffigan added that he was \u201cprobably 270\u201d pounds when he realized he wanted to make a change regarding his weight.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m kind of like a square Midwesterner. I will never look super thin,\u201d he joked with Us.<\/em><\/p>\n

Gaffigan is planning to share more about his weight loss journey in his new Hulu special The Skinny<\/em>, which drops on November 22.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re a country that\u2019s struggling with the obesity epidemic,\u201d he explained. \u201cAnd then there are these appetite suppressants that do wonders, so The Skinny<\/em> is a bit about processing society\u2019s take on that.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the special mainly focuses on weight loss, Gaffigan noted that The Skinny<\/em> will also touch on parenting. (Jim shares Marre, 20, Jack, 18, Katie, 15, Michael, 13, and Patrick, 12, with wife Jeannie Gaffigan.)<\/p>\n
