\t\t<\/p>\n Eric Braeden<\/strong><\/a>, who plays Victor Newman on The Young and the Restless<\/em><\/strong>, has been on the show over 4 decades, and he\u2019s revealing the \u201cdumbest\u201d decision they ever made.<\/p>\n If you don\u2019t know, in 2012 as a plot point on the show, a character on the series, Sharon Newman, drunkenly set fire to the Newman family ranch.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Eric <\/strong>told TV Insider<\/a> of that decision, \u201cIt was an outrage and one of the dumbest decisions ever.\u201d<\/p>\n They rebuilt the set in 2024, and Eric <\/strong>shared, \u201cTo be frank with you, when they asked me to take a look at it, I thought, \u2018Oh, well.\u2019 And then I sat there and I was a little overwhelmed. I really was touched because the old set meant so much to the Nikki\/Victor relationship. And they did a wonderful job. I was just flooded with emotions because it\u2019s stepping back into a milieu that we\u2019ve almost forgotten about. It touched me. It really did.\u201d<\/p>\n About being on the series for 44 years in such an iconic role, he added, \u201cIt means everything to me; I\u2019d be a phony if I said that it doesn\u2019t mean anything. To get affirmation of what one has done is a wonderful feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n About if he\u2019ll retire, he said, \u201cI will not, I don\u2019t want to. I feel very well. I really do. The [bladder] cancer is under control<\/a> and I will have another cystoscopy in about a month, and if that is negative, then I\u2019ll be free for a while.<\/a> It\u2019s never gone completely. You have to always watch, but signs are very good. The new knee is fully repaired.
