Spilling the salary tea! Kaitlyn Bristowe<\/strong><\/a> dropped details of her reality TV contracts \u2014 including how much she was offered to be the Bachelorette \u2014 during a candid conversation with Jason Tartick<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n Bristowe, 37, told her fianc\u00e9 during part one of her appearance on his \u201cTrading Secrets\u201d podcast<\/a> that she was living off of the $1,500<\/a> ABC gave her between season 19 of The Bachelor<\/em> and season 11 of The Bachelorette<\/em> in 2015 when negotiating her gig as the potential star. (Fans will recall Britt Nilsson<\/strong><\/a> was also picked and the contestants voted for the lead on night 1.)<\/p>\n \u201cI think they offered me $40,000. You\u2019d think I\u2019d be like, \u2018Jackpot! Sign me up!\u2019\u201d Bristowe quipped.<\/p>\n The \u201cOff the Vine\u201d podcast host, however, was advised to hire an entertainment lawyer, who her stepdad helped her pay \u201can upfront retainer of five grand.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHe changed a lot and negotiated my contract big time for me,\u201d she continued. \u201cOne of the executive producers said to me, \u2018You got an entertainment lawyer, and you\u2019re asking for this amount of money? I\u2019m sorry. I thought this is about love for you.\u2019 F\u2014k off! It\u2019s about love and money, OK? They go hand in hand for me right now. Because they said you\u2019re going against Britt, I was like, \u2018I\u2019m not doing it.\u2019 And then I said, \u2018I\u2019ll only do it if you paid me as much as you paid Chris Soules<\/strong><\/a>.\u2019 I said I wanted to make the same as he did.\u201d<\/p>\n In the past, Bachelors have revealed that they were offered $75,000 to $100,000 to hand out roses.<\/p>\n While Bristowe was \u201cworried\u201d that she would lose the gig to Nelson, she added: \u201cBut I had also negotiated that if it was her I still got money.\u201d<\/p>\n As Bachelor Nation knows, Bristowe was named the star and ended up engaged to Shawn Booth<\/a><\/strong>. The twosome split in 2018 \u2014 but she still has the Neil Lane engagement ring<\/a> as they lasted more than two years.<\/p>\n \u201cNeil Lane has first rights of buying it back,\u201d she told Tartick, adding that she\u2019d estimate she could sell the ring for $30,000 if she had permission.<\/p>\n Bristowe went on to appear on<\/a> \u2014 and win \u2014 Dancing With the Stars<\/em><\/a> in 2020.<\/p>\n \u201cYou get a bonus every week that you make it,\u201d she said of the DWTS<\/em> salaries, claiming that the runner-ups make the same as the winner. \u201cThe final four are in the final episode, they all get paid the same. \u2026 But your signing bonus, I think you can negotiate a bit, like, to sign to say you\u2019re going on the show.\u201d<\/p>\n She added that she was told the coveted mirrorball trophy<\/a> cost $10,000 to make.<\/p>\n When it comes to her \u201cmost lucrative\u201d gig<\/a>, however, Bristowe named cohosting seasons 17 and 18 of The Bachelorette<\/em> after Chris Harrison<\/strong>\u2019s<\/a> exit \u2014 despite her and Tayshia Adams<\/strong><\/a> being named \u201cguests\u201d in the credits.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cThey didn\u2019t want to pass what a host would make,\u201d she said. \u201cI think we got a little more [for Michelle Young<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s season than Katie Thurston<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s season].\u201d<\/p>\n Sign up for Us Weekly’s free, daily newsletter<\/a> and never miss breaking news or exclusive stories about your favorite celebrities, TV shows and more!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n In 2022, ABC named Jesse Palmer<\/strong><\/a> the permanent host of The Bachelor<\/em> franchise.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
