Comedian and actor Tim Dillon<\/strong> has some strong opinions about Joker: Folie \u00e0 Deux<\/em><\/a> after appearing in the sequel film.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was in Joker 2<\/em>, which just came out. It\u2019s the worst film that has ever been made,\u201d Dillon, 39, declared during a recent interview on \u201cThe Joe Rogan Experience\u201d podcast<\/a>. \u201cI think what happened, after the first Joker<\/em>, there was a lot of talk like, \u2018Oh, this was loved by incels. This was loved by the wrong kinds of people. This sent the wrong kind of message[s]. Male rage! Nihilism!\u2019 All these think pieces. And then I think [they said], \u2018What if we went the other way,\u2019 and now they have Joaquin Phoenix<\/strong> and Lady Gaga<\/strong> tap dancing to a point where it\u2019s insane.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dillon appeared as an Arkham State Hospital guard in the film, which hit theaters on October 4. The movie picks up with Phoenix\u2019s Arthur Fleck as he is institutionalized while waiting to face trial for the crimes he committed in 2019\u2019s Joker<\/em>. It\u2019s at Arkham that he meets Gaga\u2019s Lee Quinzel (a.k.a. Harley Quinn) and the two spark romance and cause chaos.<\/p>\n

The film uses several musical scenes to portray Arthur\u2019s inner feelings as he struggles with his dual personalities. Dillon, for his part, strongly disagrees with director Todd Phillips<\/strong>\u2019 creative choices.<\/p>\n

The highly anticipated sequel to 2019\u2019s Joker officially hit theaters on Friday, October 4, with Joaquin Phoenix reprising his role as Arthur Fleck a.k.a The Joker. This time, however, he\u2019s joined by his partner in [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt has no plot. We would sit there, me and these other guys were all dressed in these f\u2014-ing security outfits \u2018cause we\u2019re working at the Arkham Asylum, and I would turn to one of them and we\u2019d hear this crap and I\u2019d go, \u2018What the f\u2014 is this?\u2019\u201d he said. \u201cAnd they\u2019d go, \u2018This is going to bomb, man.\u2019 I go, \u2018This is the worst thing I\u2019ve ever [seen].\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cWe would talk about [it] at lunch. We\u2019d go, \u2018What is the plot? Is there a plot? I don\u2019t know, I think he falls in love with her in the prison?\u2019 It\u2019s not even hate-watchable. That\u2019s how terrible it is.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the film, Arthur admits his guilt for his crimes during his trial by renouncing his Joker alter ego, causing Harley and his followers to abandon him. Back at Arkham, a fellow prisoner fatally stabs Arthur before the inmate cuts a smile onto his face, seemingly carrying on the image and persona of the Joker.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s accepted the fact that he\u2019s always been Arthur Fleck; he\u2019s never been this thing that\u2019s been put upon him, this idea that Gotham\u2019s people put on him, that he represents,\u201d Phillips, 53, told Entertainment Weekly<\/em><\/a> last month of the titular character\u2019s fate. \u201cHe\u2019s an unwitting icon. This thing was placed on him, and he doesn\u2019t want to live as a fake anymore \u2014 he wants to be who he is.\u201d<\/p>\n
